As part of his official visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, on the morning of October 29 local time, General Secretary To Lam received leaders of several leading British corporations and international financial organizations.
Receiving Mr. Saif Malik, General Director of Standard Chartered Bank in the UK, General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the effectiveness of financial and banking cooperation between Vietnam and the UK in recent times; hoping that in the future, the bank will continue to share, advise and support Vietnam to become a financial center of the region.
Expressing gratitude for the bank's assistance in the recent upgrade of Vietnam's stock market, General Secretary To Lam asked Standard Chartered to support Vietnam's credit rating upgrade and the upcoming bond issuance, thereby helping Vietnam mobilize capital at reasonable costs, promoting Vietnam's development.
Standard Chartered's CEO expressed his honor to meet the General Secretary and highly appreciated the Party's correct guidelines and policies in stabilizing the macro -economy and promoting sustainable growth, thereby helping to strengthen the confidence of the business community and investors.
Agreeing with the General Secretary's view on the trend of banking and finance shifting to Asia, Mr. Saif Malik expressed his continued commitment to investing in the Vietnamese market, contributing to Vietnam's prosperity.
Receiving Mr. Chris Drewer, Senior Vice President of Asia-Pacific of Airbus Group, General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the results of the group's business cooperation with Vietnamese partners, actively contributing to the increasingly strong, self-reliant and comprehensive development of Vietnam's aviation and aerospace industry.
The General Secretary said Vietnam is promoting the development of the aviation industry to meet the people's increasing travel needs and the country's increasingly deep international integration process.

The General Secretary suggested that the group continue to strengthen cooperation with Vietnamese airlines to expand the supply chain and manufacture Airbus aircraft equipment in Vietnam; cooperate in training human resources, pay attention to promoting aircraft engine repair, open an Airbus center in Vietnam to focus on providing passenger and cargo transportation and maintenance services; and at the same time propose creating conditions for Vietnamese airlines to directly negotiate and sign aircraft purchase contracts.
On the Airbus side, Mr. Chris Drewer affirmed his commitment to continue being an important partner of Vietnam, wishing to provide more aircraft for Vietnamese airlines, and at the same time expand cooperation to areas such as helicopters, military aircraft, science and technology cooperation, and satellites.
Next, meeting with Ms. Helen Wilson, Senior Vice President of Rolls Royce Group, General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the capacity and experience of the group - one of the leading industrial groups in the world in general and the UK in particular, especially in the field of aviation.
The General Secretary suggested that the group continue to cooperate with Vietnam in researching and studying sustainable aviation fuel, training high-quality human resources and transferring technology in the field of aviation and aerospace to Vietnamese partners; in the immediate future, promoting the establishment of a Roll Royce engine maintenance and repair center in Vietnam; and at the same time, said that it would create favorable conditions for enterprises to invest and do business in Vietnam.
Expressing her honor to meet General Secretary To Lam, Ms. Helen Wilson said she was pleased that the group's cooperation on aircraft engines with Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet is contributing to the development of Vietnamese aviation, affirming her commitment to continue contributing to the development of the low-emission aviation industry and expanding cooperation to other fields./.
