Entering the exhibition hall of block A, visitors are immediately attracted by the space introducing 12 fields of cultural industry. It can be seen in cinema, fine arts, entertainment games, performing arts, etc. The exhibition not only displays achievements or honors heritage but also brings a multi-dimensional experience of the vitality of Vietnam's cultural industry through the application of modern technology.
The cinema area is designed as an open studio, leading visitors through a journey of the past, present, and future with seven areas: Cinematic Memories, Digital Studio, Metaverse Transformation, photo booth design space (Booth poster) and costumes, motion capture, VR scene and 360-degree shooting (Booth video 360).
Along with the technology demonstration, this area is opening up a clear vision of the future of an industry that can create great economic value. From production equipment, film editing techniques, virtual imaging technology to immersive experience spaces, all evoke a comprehensive picture of how Vietnamese cinema is in tune with the world.
In the Cinema Memories area, many people stopped for a long time in front of the equipment that had been associated with the previous generation of artists. The 35mm Konvas film camera recorded the historic moment when our army shot down a B52; the famous Mitchell of Hollywood in the 1960s was used to create many immortal films; the arc lamp projector of the 1970s was one of the most modern film projection technologies of the decade, using an electric arc to create light of more than 3,000 degrees Celsius to illuminate the big screen, bringing cinema closer to the public at that time. These artifacts are technical relics and living witnesses of the aspiration to bring Vietnamese cinema to the world from the beginning.
The highlight of the space is the cinema technology area. At Digital Studio, the public can witness actors standing in 3D space, robots operating flexibly to create perfect shooting angles. In the Metaverse Transformation area, many young people are excited to see their image transformed into a 3D character after just a few seconds scanned by 81 synchronized cameras. The Motion Capture area is always crowded with people experiencing, when the smallest body movements are reproduced accurately to every detail - technology that used to only appear in Hollywood blockbusters.
Meanwhile, the VR scene allows the entire crew to “enter” a 3D space, choosing realistic shooting angles. Many audiences are also excited to transform into movie characters right at the exhibition. The 360 video booth becomes a vibrant “check-in” spot when visitors can immediately record short clips with vivid effects to preserve the experience.
While the exhibition's first-floor display area impresses with its state-of-the-art cinema technology, the second-floor space offers an emotional art experience. For the first time, a large-scale art exhibition was combined with an art auction to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2. The event was hosted by the Department of Fine Arts, Photography and Exhibitions (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), in coordination with Truong Uy Joint Stock Auction Company and Chon de l'Art Art Company.
Hundreds of paintings and sculptures by contemporary artists in a variety of materials from lacquer, oil, wood, terracotta to welded metal, etc. are introduced on this occasion. Each work offers a perspective on the artist’s life and creative emotions. The exhibition space becomes an art performance worthy of the 80-year journey of national history.
The highlight was the first art auction organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, gathering nearly 150 works by nearly 100 authors, many of which were auctioned for billions of VND. This event also showed a vibrant and potential art market, opening a bridge between artists, collectors and the art-loving public.
The combination of modern technology and creativity has brought about immersive, interactive and connecting experiences for the public. This is an important step, showing that Vietnam's cultural industry is gradually becoming a key economic sector, contributing to national development.
