Equipping knowledge and skills in safe vaccination for military medical staff

On October 7-8, in Hanoi, the Military Medical Department (General Department of Logistics and Technology) organized a training course on "Vaccination safety for the entire army in 2025".

In recent times, military medical staff at all levels in the entire army have organized and implemented vaccination work well, with regular vaccination tasks (tetanus vaccination for new soldiers and new trainees); vaccination according to mission requirements (yellow fever vaccination for forces performing UN peacekeeping missions and working in the African region...); vaccination against epidemics such as Covid-19 vaccination.

Many military hospitals have performed well in vaccination and vaccination practices in accordance with legal regulations (personnel, facilities, professional processes and the local Department of Health has posted the hospital's self-declaration of eligibility for vaccination...).

To carry out vaccination work in the coming time, units must have adequate and synchronous investment in infrastructure. Each officer and military medical staff directly involved in vaccination activities must study to improve their professional qualifications, including training in vaccination safety, to issue certificates to military medical officers and staff as a basis for completing legal documents to carry out vaccination work in accordance with the provisions of law.

Therefore, the training course “Safe vaccination for the whole army in 2025” was organized by the Military Medical Department to equip knowledge, professional and legal skills for the military medical staff. This is an official training course recognized by the Ministry of Health , directly taught and certified by the Hanoi Center for Disease Control (CDC Hanoi).

Nearly 100 trainees, including military doctors, nurses, and paramedics, participated in the training. The training content included: Awareness of vaccines; vaccination schedules and current types of vaccines; legal regulations on vaccination; cold chain vaccine preservation procedures; organizing safe vaccination sessions; screening examinations, vaccination consultation; vaccination techniques; monitoring and handling post-vaccination reactions; reporting, statistics, and application of national vaccination information management software.

The practical content will be carried out at the vaccination room of CDC Hanoi by lecturers who are experts with a lot of practical experience in the field of vaccines and vaccination.

Colonel, Associate Professor, Doctor Le Van Dong - Deputy Director of the Military Medical Department (General Department of Logistics and Technology) requested the trainees to strictly comply with the regulations of the training course on dividing classes, dividing study groups and managing according to military discipline; actively study to acquire all the necessary knowledge and skills on vaccination safety to be granted a Certificate of vaccination safety according to regulations.

The training results will be the basis for vaccination work in the entire army, contributing to improving the quality of care and protecting soldiers' health.
