BTS Jimin's father, Park, was scheduled to hold a fan meeting in Takasaka City, Gunma Prefecture, Japan on August 11, but the event was later canceled. This was part of a series of events to celebrate the opening of a coffee shop in Japan run by Park.

“Our Japanese staff also respected the wishes of representative Park,” the organizers said.

Jimin's father runs a cafe in Jinnam-ro, Nam-gu, Busan (South Korea). Since BTS is a globally famous K-pop group, and Jimin is also the most famous member of the group, many ARMY (BTS's fandom name) have visited the cafe.

This cafe not only sells drinks but also sells many other items such as T-shirts, necklaces, hats, hand creams... It is worth noting that most of the items are purple, the symbolic color of BTS.

There are also many products bearing the number 1995, Jimin's birth year. The prices of the products range from 30,000 won to 50,000 won.

Along with Jimin’s fame, it seems like his father has also become a celebrity. ARMYs line up endlessly at cafes in Korea just to get Park’s autograph. The cafe also sells T-shirts with Park’s signature.

According to Sports Kyunghyang, the controversial thing is that Mr. Park intended to hold an autograph event with his own signature, even though he is not an artist or star in the entertainment industry.

In addition, many critics say that Mr. Park is taking advantage of BTS and Jimin's reputation for personal gain. Mr. Park's activities at the cafe also raise concerns that it will damage Jimin's image.

However, there are also BTS fans who support Mr. Park. They believe that since Mr. Park is Jimin's father, there is no problem with him participating in profitable activities related to Jimin.

Jimin enlisted in the military along with BTS member Jungkook in December last year. The male idol is expected to be discharged in June 2025.
