On April 22, the Ministry of Education and Training coordinated with relevant units to organize the 2022 National High School Chess Competition and Award Ceremony - TOTA Cup.

The tournament took place nationwide at the primary and secondary school levels, including both public and private schools, with qualifying rounds held locally. The final round was held online between 26 chess clubs from 13 primary schools and 13 secondary schools representing 13 Departments of Education and Training, including: Hanoi, Bac Giang , Bac Ninh, Can Tho, Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Lai Chau, Thai Nguyen, Tra Vinh and Tuyen Quang.

The Organizing Committee awarded flags to the 3 strongest teams participating in the National Finals: The first prize for the whole team went to Bac Giang team; the second prize went to Hai Phong team, and the third prize went to Hanoi team. The Primary School Championship Cup was awarded to Vinschool Primary School (Hanoi Team), the second prize went to Cuong Son Primary School (Bac Giang Team), and the third prize went to Phan Thiet Primary School (Tuyen Quang Team); The Secondary School Championship Cup was awarded to Tran Phu Secondary School (Hai Phong Team), the second prize went to Nham Bien Secondary School No. 1 (Bac Giang Team) and the third prize went to Han Thuyen Secondary School (Bac Ninh Team); 9 sets of gold, silver, and bronze medals were awarded to the first, second, and third place winners of the 9 grade levels.

In addition, the Organizing Committee presented flags of 10 strong national teams to the delegations: Hai Duong, Bac Ninh, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Can Tho, Gia Lai, Hung Yen, Lai Chau, Dak Lak and Tra Vinh. All 234 players participating in the 2022 TOTA Cup Finals were granted certificates of competition achievements and certificates of participation in the National Finals of the tournament by the Organizing Committee.
