(Baoquangngai.vn) - On the evening of August 9, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the People's Committee of Minh Long district to organize a performance and closing ceremony of the 2024 Gong, Instrument and Folk Song Festival of Ethnic Minorities in Quang Ngai province.
Attending this Festival were more than 250 artisans and actors of the Hre, Cor, and Ca Dong ethnic groups from five mountainous districts: Son Tay, Son Ha, Tra Bong, Ba To, and Minh Long.

At the festival, a large audience in the mountainous district of Minh Long continued to enjoy the special art performances of the second competition night performed by the artist groups of Son Ha and Minh Long districts.

Over 2 competition nights, from August 8-9, with 24 performances, diverse and rich in genres such as: Gong performance, Amap trumpet solo, A khung traditional musical instrument ensemble, folk singing, folk dancing. Along with that, traditional rituals combining dance and gongs such as: New rice celebration ceremony, water trough celebration ceremony, ripe rice celebration... were also performed vividly.

In his closing speech, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Lien Phuong emphasized that the actors and artists had brought the audience and delegates unique and lively spiritual food. The performances of folk songs, folk dances and folk music of the Hre, Cor and Cadong ethnic minorities were very special; the sports were organized and competed enthusiastically, attracting many spectators to watch and cheer.

At the end of the festival, the Organizing Committee awarded the First Prize of the Gong, Instrument, and Folk Song Festival to Ba To district, 2 Second Prizes to Minh Long and Son Tay districts; 2 Third Prizes to Son Ha and Tra Bong districts. The Organizing Committee also awarded the First Prize of the 2024 Ethnic Minority Sports Festival to Son Ha unit, Second Prize to Ba To unit and Third Prize to Minh Long unit.
