Speaking at the award ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui Hoang Phuong said: The 2024 Science and Technology Journalism Award takes place in the context that the Politburo has just issued Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, identifying the development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation as one of the strategic pillars for Vietnam to become a developed country.

“In order for the innovative and breakthrough ideas of the Resolution to quickly enter life and spread to every citizen, every business, every scientist, the press is the pioneering force, a solid bridge between policy and practice. Each press work on science, technology, innovation or digital transformation is not just information, but a bridge between ideas and reality, between laboratories and factories, between Vietnam and the world. In my opinion, it is the voice of knowledge, arousing faith, awakening aspirations, and encouraging innovation throughout the nation. Science and technology journalism is also a force to protect the Party's ideological foundation, fight against false information, and guide public opinion with scientific knowledge, authentic evidence, and convincing arguments,” said Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong.

Held since 2012, the Award has received the active response and participation of central and local press agencies with more than 8,000 works and groups of works in 5 types of journalism. The Organizing Committee has selected 271 excellent works and groups of works by authors and groups of authors to present the Award.
