Awarding the "Brave Youth" badge to a member who saved 4 people in a boat capsize in Ha Long Bay

On July 21, authorized by the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union, Comrade Nguyen Phuong Thao, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, visited and awarded the “Brave Youth” badge of the Central Youth Union to Dinh Duc Hiep (born in 1995), a member of the Youth Union of Ha Trung 4 Area (Ha Lam Ward, Quang Ninh Province) for his brave action in rescuing people from the ship capsized in Ha Long Bay on July 19. On this occasion, the Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee also awarded a certificate of merit to Dinh Duc Hiep.

Previously, on July 19, 2025, in a serious tourist boat capsize that occurred in Ha Long Bay, due to a sudden storm, member Dinh Duc Hiep bravely, regardless of his life, saved 4 people from a life-or-death situation, including his biological mother and 3 tourist passengers.

Duc Hiep's selfless, courageous and humane actions have contributed to spreading the spirit of "Wherever needed, there are youth, wherever difficult, there are youth" and the spirit of courage, compassion, civic responsibility and readiness to act of Quang Ninh youth.
