Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son shared his joy with the Gia Lai Education and Training sector on the first day of the new school year; at the same time, affirmed: The 2023-2024 school year has an important task in the process of implementing the 2018 General Education Program. In that process, textbooks and learning materials play a particularly important role. Therefore, supporting textbooks for students in difficult circumstances in the country in general and Gia Lai in particular is an action of practical significance.

At the ceremony, General Director of Vietnam Education Publishing House Hoang Le Bach presented a symbolic book donation plaque to the leaders of Gia Lai Department of Education and Training with a total of 18,722 sets of textbooks (total value of more than 6 billion VND) for disadvantaged students in the province. Of these, more than 2,000 sets of books were donated under the program "Together we go to school" of Vietnam Education Publishing House; more than 16,000 sets of books were donated at the request of the National Assembly Delegation of Gia Lai province for disadvantaged students outside the state budget.

On this occasion, Vietnam Education Publishing House also donated 15 shared textbook cabinets (equivalent to 1,920 sets of textbooks) to schools in disadvantaged areas of Gia Lai province.

This activity is under the direction of the Ministry of Education and Training on ensuring enough textbooks for the 2023-2024 school year for students nationwide, with the goal of contributing to ensuring that students in difficult circumstances have enough textbooks according to the 2018 General Education Program when entering the new school year; creating a source of learning and teaching materials for students and teachers to use together in school libraries of schools/schools in difficult areas, and at the same time promoting the reuse of textbooks. Accordingly, the Vietnam Education Publishing House has organized two support programs: Together we take you to school and Shared Textbook Cabinet.

It is known that from 2019-2022, the Vietnam Education Publishing House has donated more than 75,000 textbooks to students in difficult circumstances in 63 provinces and cities across the country. The book donation programs are organized by the Vietnam Education Publishing House every year with an increasing number of books, contributing to sharing difficulties for the education sector. Thereby, schools have more resources for sharing, actively supporting the learning of students. The textbooks have motivated students in difficult circumstances to continue going to school, reducing the burden of learning costs for parents in remote, isolated and disadvantaged areas./.
