Over 222 thousand hectares of perennial crops

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the province currently has over 222 thousand hectares of perennial crops. Of which, nearly 120 thousand hectares are coconut trees, accounting for about 50% of the country's coconut area; over 102 thousand hectares are fruit trees; reaching 99.52% of the plan, the output reached over 2.46 million tons (coconut reached 759 thousand tons, fruit trees 1.7 million tons) reaching 68.6% of the plan.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the province currently has over 222 thousand hectares of perennial crops. Recently, the agricultural sector has directed specialized agencies to regularly review and grasp the situation of black-headed coconut worms, while at the same time propagating and guiding localities on prevention and treatment. The whole province currently has over 157 hectares of infected coconut areas, nearly 560 hectares of restored coconut areas, and since the beginning of 2025, more than 116 million parasitic wasps have been released.

In the last months of the year, the agricultural sector will focus on improving ineffective fruit and coconut gardens in the direction of intensive farming and intercropping. Developing key production areas of main fruit trees and coconut trees in communes and wards in the sweet zone.

Promote the use of high-yield, high-quality, pest-resistant crop varieties; apply sustainable farming methods, reduce costs, strictly control the use of input materials; strengthen production-consumption linkages.
