Deploying measures to prevent and combat storm No. 3 for forces performing parade and marching duties

On July 21, in Hanoi, the working delegation of the General Department of Logistics and Technology (GDC) led by Major General Huynh Tan Hung, Deputy Director of the GDC, inspected the logistics work and the implementation of measures to prevent and combat storm No. 3 (Wipha) of the units performing the tasks in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 (task A80). The working delegation included leaders and commanders of functional agencies under the GDC.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, storm No. 3 is currently active in the North East Sea with very strong intensity. The storm will affect the North and North Central regions from this evening, July 21. This is a strong and fast-moving storm. The storm is at risk of causing strong winds, heavy rain, and high risks of flash floods, landslides in the midlands and mountainous areas, along with flooding in low-lying areas and urban areas.

To proactively respond to storm No. 3, Major General Huynh Tan Hung requested agencies and units to continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the issued telegrams on proactively responding to storms and heavy rains, in order to avoid being passive and surprised. Forecasting work must always be ready, proactive, and absolutely not subjective. Units need to strictly maintain the on-call regime at all levels and closely monitor the storm's developments. At the same time, check and review prevention and control plans, strengthen reinforcement and protection of barracks and key works.

In particular, it is necessary to pay attention to key areas, low-lying areas, and flooded areas. Prepare forces and means according to the "4 on-site" motto, promptly and effectively respond to situations that arise. Ensure the safety of people and means for forces. Strengthen solutions to prevent and respond to thunderstorms, tornadoes, and gusts of wind that cause trees to fall. Ensure food safety and environmental sanitation; proactively prevent and combat epidemics that are at risk of occurring during and after floods, storms, and heavy rains.
