On October 20, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued a Decision on the Plan to organize the Photo Exhibition " Ho Chi Minh City Rising with the Country through a Cinematic Perspective" within the framework of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival.

Opportunity to enjoy valuable cinematic works

Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism assigned the Vietnam Film Institute to preside over and coordinate with relevant units to organize the above photo exhibition within the framework of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival.

The exhibition is held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025); in response to the 24th Vietnam Film Festival in 2025, held in Ho Chi Minh City.

Exploiting and spreading historical and cultural values ​​through displaying and disseminating cinematographic documents and materials archived at the Vietnam Film Institute, along with images and artifacts collected from cinema artists, the Department of Culture and Sports , the Department of Tourism, Radio - Television and the Ho Chi Minh City Cinema Association.

Thereby, introducing and promoting the image of Ho Chi Minh City in the stages of fighting to protect the Fatherland, building, innovating, integrating and developing with the country.

At the same time, preserve and promote the value of valuable cinematographic works and documents, contributing to preserving the historical and cultural memories of Ho Chi Minh City through the perspective of cinematic art. Bringing the public, especially the people of Ho Chi Minh City, the opportunity to enjoy valuable cinematographic works, while promoting the image of a beautiful, hospitable and dynamic city.

With the theme of Ho Chi Minh City rising with the country through a cinematic perspective , the exhibition is scheduled to take place from November 21 to 25, 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The exhibition is expected to introduce about 250 printed images extracted from documents and film works archived at the Vietnam Film Institute; documents and film works collected from the Department of Culture and Sports, Department of Tourism , Radio - Television, Ho Chi Minh City Cinema Association about the filming location, people, life, the process of innovation, integration and development of Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City through the main contents including:

Three main contents of the exhibition

First content: The period of Southern Liberation and National Reunification (1945 - 1975), the exhibition images are expected to be printed from a number of feature films and documentaries reflecting the struggle for Southern Liberation and National Reunification in cinematographic works: Moc Hoa Battle, Tra Vinh Campaign, Saigon Joyful Victory, May Faces, Independence Day September 2, 1975 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Some images of the liberation of Saigon in the movies: First Love, Rising Wind, Monsoon Season, Deserted Field, Flipped Card Game, Saigon Commando, Saigon Liberation, Tunnels.

Second content: The period of national construction and development (1976 - 1985), the exhibition images are expected to be printed from a number of feature films and documentaries reflecting the construction process and changes of Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City after the country's reunification in cinematographic works such as: National Festival, Saigon in the early days of liberation, Saigon Rain, Saigon through the eyes of foreigners, The city of each of us, The last sin, Far and near, The bitter taste of love...

Third content: The period of innovation, integration and development (1986 - 2025), the exhibition images are expected to be printed from a number of feature films and documentaries such as: Apartment, Dancing Girl, Miss Saigon, American Dream, Miss Saigon Corner, Love Journey of a Tourist...

Collected images from the Department of Culture and Sports, Department of Tourism, Television Station, Ho Chi Minh City Cinema Association and a number of individuals and related agencies with content about the process of innovation, development, integration, economic, political and social achievements that Ho Chi Minh City has achieved after 50 years of liberation.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requires that exhibition activities be organized in a form appropriate to the actual situation, ensuring solemnity, practicality, effectiveness, focus, safety, and the correct purpose and meaning of the Project to Organize the 24th Vietnam Festival in particular and current regulations in general.
