Implement preventive measures early

At the same time, he has proactively guided localities to implement environmental sanitation measures, and treat drilled wells, dug wells, and flooded water tanks according to the Ministry of Health 's instructions.

In addition, coordinate with units and localities to propagate to people about personal hygiene, environmental hygiene immediately after floods; measures to prevent infectious diseases, especially for people in areas affected by storms, floods, flash floods, inundation, and landslides.

Regional health centers ensure that 100% of households in flood-affected areas use water that is disinfected according to regulations and that wells are treated as floodwater recedes. Organize residual spraying of chloramine B solution to disinfect public places such as markets, bus stations, schools, landfills, etc.

In particular, strengthen monitoring, detection and timely handling of infectious disease outbreaks occurring before, during and after floods, flash floods, inundation, landslides, such as respiratory infections, athlete's foot, dengue fever; at the same time, prevent diseases transmitted through the digestive tract...

According to Dr. Vo Quang Vinh, Director of Hoa Vang Regional Medical Center, identifying the frequent flooding situation in the area, the unit proactively developed a propaganda plan and implemented disease prevention measures. The leader of Ba Na Commune Health Station said that in addition to strengthening propaganda and disease prevention, the unit also promotes the role of population and public health collaborators in disease surveillance in the community, mobilizing people to kill mosquito larvae, clean the environment, and maintain personal hygiene.

Realizing the danger of mosquitoes showing signs of breeding and developing after the flood, Mrs. Bui Thi Cuc (Ba Na commune) proactively prevented dengue fever by many measures. Accordingly, in addition to clearing sewers and cleaning bottles to cut off the development of larvae and mosquitoes, Mrs. Cuc also reminded family members to carefully hang mosquito nets before sleeping as well as use mosquito repellent essential oils...

CDC leaders recommend that people take proactive preventive measures by ensuring safe and hygienic food selection and preparation, eating cooked food and boiled water. Regularly wash hands with soap before and after preparing food, before eating and after using the toilet.

Daily personal hygiene is required, feet should be washed and the toes should be dried after contact with flood water or contaminated water; do not bathe or wash clothes in dirty water. Kill larvae, mosquito larvae, and mosquitoes by covering water tanks and containers, releasing fish into large water containers... Follow the principle of cleaning as the water recedes, collecting, processing, and burying animal carcasses according to the instructions of medical staff. When there are signs of suspected infection, go to the nearest medical facility for examination and treatment...
