Prime Minister requests response to risk of heavy rain, floods, landslides, flash floods

On October 20, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed an official dispatch requesting ministries, branches and localities to proactively deploy measures to respond to storm No. 12 and floods.

To proactively prevent, avoid, respond, ensure safety for people's lives, and minimize property damage, the Prime Minister requested leaders of relevant ministries, branches and leaders of coastal provinces, especially from Ha Tinh to Dak Lak , to focus on directing and proactively deploying measures to prevent, avoid and respond to storm No. 12.

The Prime Minister requested special response to the risk of heavy rain, floods, landslides and flash floods with the most urgent and drastic spirit, proactive prevention and response at the highest level, anticipating the worst situations to ensure the safety of people's lives, limit damage to property, and avoid being passive and surprised.

The Chairmen of the People's Committees of coastal provinces and cities direct competent agencies to coordinate with border guards, specialized management agencies and ship owners to continue to check, count and grasp the positions of all ships and vehicles operating at sea, and guide ships and vehicles still operating at sea to move so as not to enter, exit dangerous areas or return to safe shelters.

The Prime Minister requested to proactively evacuate people to safe places before floods occur; absolutely not to let dams become unsafe. Along with that, localities need to review all ships and means of transport operating at sea, along the coast, on rivers in areas at risk of being affected by storms and floods; arrange forces and means to be ready to support localities in responding to storms, floods and search and rescue...

Ministers of the Ministries of National Defense and Public Security proactively directed units stationed in the area to review plans, arrange forces and means to be ready to support localities in evacuating and relocating residents, responding to storms, floods and search and rescue when requested.
