New motivation
On October 9, 2025, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 2229/QD-TTg approving the Vietnam Logistics Services Development Strategy for the period 2025 - 2035, with a vision to 2050. With the strategic task of developing three dynamic growth areas of logistics services in the Red River Delta, the Southeast region and the Central region into international-level logistics service centers.
In particular, Da Nang is the growth pole of the Central region's logistics service growth engine and prioritizes the development of logistics services and logistics centers associated with key economic corridors of Quang Tri - Hue - Da Nang with Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar.
According to Dr. Nguyen Tien Da, Head of the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Business Administration, College of Commerce, the decision to establish the Free Trade Zone in the current context is very timely, appropriate and has important significance for the development of logistics services in the country in general, and Da Nang in particular. In particular, Da Nang has been allowed by the Central Government to pilot the implementation of the Free Trade Zone. These will be the foundations for creating a foothold, the main factor determining the development of logistics.
Deputy General Director of Truong Hai International Transport Co., Ltd., Bui Tran Nhan Tri, said: The Resolution of the 1st Congress of the Da Nang City Party Committee (term 2025 - 2030) clearly stated the goal of developing industry and logistics in a modern, sustainable direction, linked with the national processing, manufacturing and mechanical industry. This affirms that logistics is not only a supporting industry but also an important pillar in the development strategy, playing a driving role in promoting trade, connecting supply chains and enhancing the city's competitiveness.
Da Nang possesses competitive advantages, which is its irreplaceable strategic location, in the center of the country, the end point of the East-West economic corridor. The city has 16 industrial parks, 1 high-tech park, 2 concentrated information technology parks and 56 industrial clusters, distributed closely to main traffic axes and near seaports and airports, creating conditions for the development of logistics models associated with production, distribution and export.
In particular, the newly established Da Nang Free Trade Zone with a scale of more than 1,881 hectares, including 7 functional areas of production - logistics, trade - services, digital technology - innovation, associated with the Da Nang International Financial Center, will open up opportunities for logistics enterprises, secondary investors and global supply chain service providers to choose as a location for warehouses, distribution centers, infrastructure exploitation services or integrated logistics activities.
Notably, the Danang International Financial Center is implementing to gradually form an ecosystem of trade and logistics support services, which will be an important platform to directly serve industry and logistics.
Viettel Post (VTP) started construction of an 86,000m2 logistics center in Da Nang
Viettel Post Joint Stock Corporation has started construction of the Da Nang Logistics Center in Lien Chieu Industrial Park. The center is built on an area of 8.6 hectares with a total investment of more than 722 billion VND.
The center with a Crossbelt Sorter sorting line with a capacity of 9,000 parcels/hour, combined with AGV autonomous robots, optimizes goods flow and operating productivity, and is designed to become a link connecting the production - retail - e-commerce ecosystem in the Central Highlands.
