Exhibition "Spring in Hanoi and Seoul" by artist Van Duong Thanh

The works have an abstract, musical style - typical of Van Duong Thanh's artistic language, with splendid yet gentle colors, a harmony between tradition and modernity, between Vietnamese and Korean culture.

Van Duong Thanh is a familiar name to art lovers in Vietnam and Asia. She graduated from the Vietnam University of Fine Arts and was a student of the famous painter Bui Xuan Phai.

Since the age of 20, Van Duong Thanh has had her paintings collected by the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum. To date, her works have been collected by national museums in many countries such as India, China, Mongolia, Singapore, Poland, Romania, Moldova, Spain and Sweden.

As the first Vietnamese to be selected for the International Excellence of Arts program, Van Duong Thanh has had 115 solo exhibitions domestically and internationally, displaying about 2,000 paintings.

Her paintings are also in the collections of many prestigious international collectors. Not only that, many of her works have been selected as gifts for heads of state.

She has made many contributions to Vietnam's cultural diplomacy , one of which is the coordination of more than 50 exhibitions celebrating Vietnam's National Day abroad. She volunteers as a bridge between cultures.

The artist has also actively participated in charity projects for many years. She has auctioned 30 paintings to raise funds for afforestation, scholarships for poor students and orphans, and to build charity houses for the poor.

At the opening ceremony of the exhibition “Spring in Hanoi and Seoul”, Ms. Elena Bezdetko, the wife of the Ambassador of the Russian Federation, said: “Van Duong Thanh is one of the leading artists of Vietnam with valuable and internationally famous paintings. In addition to her passion for art and her constant creative work for art, she has contributed to social programs.

Van Duong Thanh is a cultural ambassador of Vietnam, through his paintings he strengthens the friendship between Vietnam and international friends. Coming to Vietnam, I am very happy and pleased to be a friend of Van Duong Thanh."

Artist Van Duong Thanh is currently a guest lecturer for VinUni, FPT University, Marie Curie Inter-level School, Seoul University of Foreign Languages ​​and Translation.

The exhibition "Hanoi and Seoul Spring" by artist Van Duong Thanh takes place at 49 Nguyen Du (Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi) from May 17 to June 7, 2025.
