Exhibition “Ethnicity – Belief and Heritage”

On August 15, at An Hoi Sculpture Garden (Hoi An Ward, Da Nang City), the photo exhibition "Ethnicity - Belief and Heritage" officially opened, attracting the participation of leaders of Central Ministries and Branches, leaders of Da Nang City People's Committee, researchers, artists and a large public.

The exhibition was organized by the Office of the Standing Body of the Human Rights Steering Committee (V02) in coordination with the People's Committee of Da Nang City, aiming to promote Vietnam's achievements in ensuring and promoting human rights, ensuring freedom of belief, religion and traditional cultural heritage of ethnic minority communities in Vietnam. This is also a practical activity to contribute to raising awareness, strengthening national unity and promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam to domestic and international audiences.

The exhibition introduces hundreds of unique photographic works, vividly recreating spiritual life, customs, festivals and beliefs across the country.

The two main themes, “Religion – Beliefs” and “Vietnamese Ethnic Groups”, clearly depict the cultural diversity from the Vesak festival, the Dieu Tri Palace Festival, Chol Chnam Thmay, the worship of the Mother Goddess of the Three Palaces… to festivals and traditional occupations such as Thai Xoe dance, Ngo boat racing, Red Dao wedding, Xa Phang brocade weaving…

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Hoa Chi, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs - Ministry of Public Security , Deputy Chief of Office of the Government Human Rights Agency emphasized: "The exhibition is a vivid demonstration of the humane and consistent policy of the Party and State in protecting human rights, especially the freedom of belief, religion and the right to development of ethnic minorities".

The exhibition has profound political and humanistic significance, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc, promoting the image of the friendly and culturally rich Vietnamese people to international friends.

During the 2023-2025 term, Vietnam, as a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council, will continue to affirm its position as an active and responsible nation, making practical contributions to the international community. Looking forward to the 2026-2028 term, officially running for the Human Rights Council clearly demonstrates its commitment to promoting human rights on the basis of cultural diversity, sustainable development and social justice.

Not only a cultural and artistic activity, the exhibition also has profound political and humanistic significance, contributing to strengthening the great national unity bloc, promoting the image of the friendly and culturally rich Vietnamese people to international friends; affirming Vietnam as a peaceful, developed and integrated country, where human rights and culture go hand in hand."
