Exhibition of scientific and technological achievements: Recreating the journey of 80 years of service and innovation

DNVN - On August 28, the exhibition of achievements in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation officially opened at the National Exhibition and Fair Center (VEC), Dong Anh, Hanoi. The event was chaired by the Ministry of Science and Technology, within the framework of the exhibition of national achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

The exhibition, which runs until September 5, aims to recreate the 80-year journey of contributions of the Science and Technology and Post and Telecommunications sectors with three pillars: Science and Technology - Innovation - Digital Transformation in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. The event affirms the fundamental role and key driving force of the sector in enhancing national competitiveness and creating a sustainable future.

Through a modern presentation format that combines data, images, artifacts and technology, the exhibition not only honors glorious history but also inspires the younger generation, arouses national pride and promotes the spirit of innovation throughout society.

The exhibition is organized according to historical flow, with a central area and five content sections, corresponding to five important historical periods of the country.

In which, zone 1 is the period of Resistance and nation building (1945-1954). Here, the role of science and technology, post office in the resistance cause is recreated, with innovations in weapon manufacturing, military medicine, and early communication systems.

The exhibition runs until September 5.

Zone 2, the period of Liberation of the South and construction of socialism in the North (1954-1975), affirmed the role of science and technology in building the North and supporting the South, laying the foundation for Vietnam's modern science and technology system.

Division 3, Pre-Renovation period (1975-1986), recognized the industry's efforts during the period when the country faced many difficulties, laying the foundation for later reform and innovation.

Zone 4, the Innovation and Integration period (1986-2025), emphasizes the key role of the three pillars of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation in the process of industrialization, modernization and international integration. This is the period that witnessed the birth of high-tech products, startup ecosystems and "Make in Vietnam" unicorn enterprises.

Zone 5, New Era (from 2025 onwards), conveys the strategic vision of Vietnam's science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation to 2045, focusing on 11 national strategic technology groups such as AI, semiconductors, and biotechnology.

The exhibition displays more than 75 typical artifacts, demonstrating the creativity and great contributions of Vietnamese intelligence through the ages.

In the field of social and natural sciences, classic works that received the Ho Chi Minh Prize such as "Outline of Vietnamese Cultural History" by Dao Duy Anh or "Medicinal Plants and Vietnamese Medicinal Herbs" by Do Tat Loi were solemnly introduced.

In the field of science and technology, many products have made indelible marks. During the resistance war, these were the improvements to the Bazooka and SKZ guns by engineer Tran Dai Nghia, the BR12 radar, or the "Magnetic Mine Clearing" project. During the renovation period, these were 5G devices, the VINASAT-1 satellite, the MK-eID chip for IoT, the Dat Bike electric vehicle, or smart home solutions. In particular, the appearance of AI holograms hosting programs and 3D models shows the potential and vision of national digital transformation.

In parallel with the exhibition, the forum "Future of science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation" will take place on the morning of August 29 with discussions on the country's development path in the digital age.
