On the afternoon of July 21, the launching ceremony of the MB Vietnam Open pickleball tournament under the PPA Tour Asia system took place in Hanoi .
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Kimberly Koh - Managing Director of UPA Asia said: "MB Vietnam Open is a major milestone in the development of pickleball in Vietnam. Bringing an international-class tournament to Trinh Linh Giang's hometown is a step to create the future of this sport . We are opening up a path for professional development for local athletes and inspiring the next generation".

What makes this tournament special is not only its scale or the presence of top players, but also the “homecoming” of Trinh Linh Giang – who made history by becoming the first Vietnamese player to win a tournament in the PPA Tour Asia system. He had excited Malaysian audiences at the Panas Open, and now, that emotion is waiting to be duplicated in his home country.
“I am very excited to play at home, with the support of the Vietnamese fans! I will give my all to represent my country and my team,” Trinh Linh Giang shared.

The tournament will take place from September 4 to 7, 2025 at Global City Sports Park ( Ho Chi Minh City), marking an important milestone in the Vietnamese sports calendar and continuing to promote the strong development momentum of the PPA Tour system across Asia.
Along with Linh Giang, prominent names such as Ken Tam and Sophia Tran - two representatives of the UPA Asia Trailblazers team - also promise to create top-notch matches, continuing the three-week series of pickleball events that have stirred up the entire region: Hong Kong Open (from August 21 to 24), Sansan Fukuoka Open (from August 26 to 31) and MB Vietnam Open (from September 4 to 7).
In addition, fans will experience classes with professional athletes, participate in interactive games, and immerse themselves in the Fanzone - a place to meet, exchange, and spread the energy of a new, attractive sport that is still quite unfamiliar to most Vietnamese people.
