Hanoi: Visiting and congratulating pagodas on the occasion of Vu Lan Festival

On the afternoon of September 8th, on the occasion of the Vu Lan Festival (Buddhist calendar 2569), Mr. Nguyen Sy Truong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, visited and offered congratulations at Quan Su, Tran Quoc, and Ly Trieu Quoc Su temples.

At Quan Su Pagoda, the delegation was received by Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Standing Member of the Council of Buddhist Elders, and Standing Vice President of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; at Tran Quoc Pagoda, the delegation was received by Venerable Thich Thanh Nha, Standing Member of the Council of Buddhist Elders of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and abbot; at Ly Trieu Quoc Su Pagoda, the delegation was received by Venerable Thich Bao Nghiem, Vice President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Head of the Central Propagation Committee, and Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Hanoi .

The Director of the City's Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, Nguyen Sy Truong, extended his best wishes to the abbots, senior monks, and all Buddhist followers.

The Director of the Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs of Hanoi City presented a flower basket from the Hanoi City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, affirming that Buddhism has made positive contributions to the overall development of the capital and the country. He also highly appreciated the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, especially the temples that organized the Vu Lan Festival solemnly and meaningfully, demonstrating a deep concern for preserving and promoting the beautiful traditional cultural values ​​of the nation.

Comrade Nguyen Sy Truong expressed his hope that in the coming time, religious leaders will continue to encourage monks, nuns, and Buddhists to uphold the tradition of unity, effectively implement the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, promote patriotic emulation movements and social welfare work, contributing to consolidating the great national unity bloc even more strongly, and contributing even more to the socio -economic development of the city.

In a solemn and warm atmosphere, Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Venerable Thich Thanh Nha, and Venerable Thich Bao Nghiem all emphasized that this year's Vu Lan Festival (Filial Piety Festival) is even more meaningful as it coincides with the National Day on September 2nd. This is a special intersection between the nation's tradition of filial piety and the country's patriotic and peaceful spirit. The Buddhist spirit of filial piety and the national spirit of unity have blended together, creating a sacred and proud holiday.
