In 2024, HHV aims for consolidated revenue of VND 3,146 billion and after-tax profit of VND 404 billion, representing growth of 17% and 11% respectively compared to 2023. Specifically, in the first six months of 2024, HHV estimates a profit of VND 221 billion, equivalent to 55% of the 2024 profit target.
Previously, in the first quarter of 2024, HHV recorded revenue of VND 690 billion, an increase of 28% compared to the same period. Revenue from BOT toll collection still accounted for a large proportion (69%) of HHV's total revenue, reaching VND 477 billion, an increase of 23% compared to the same period in 2023.
According to a representative from HHV Company, in the first six months of 2024, the traffic volume through HHV's toll stations exceeded 11.9 million vehicles, a 13% increase compared to the first six months of 2023. On average, the BOT toll stations are estimated to generate over 5.3 billion VND for the company each day.
HHV is a company that invests in many large-scale BOT projects across the country, including: the Bac Giang – Lang Son expressway; the Cam Lam – Vinh Hao expressway; the expansion of National Highway 1 through Khanh Hoa; the Deo Ca tunnel; the Cu Mong tunnel; the Hai Van tunnel; the Phu Gia – Phuoc Tuong tunnel…
Specifically, the BOT project to invest in the construction of road tunnels through Deo Ca Pass (including Deo Ca, Co Ma, Cu Mong, and Hai Van tunnels) has a total investment of VND 21,612 billion, and in the first six months of 2024, the expected toll revenue is VND 651 billion, an increase of 29% compared to the same period.
The aforementioned road tunnels through the mountains, once completed and put into operation, will help shorten travel time and minimize accidents on mountain pass roads.
In particular, since the construction of the Deo Ca and Cu Mong tunnels on National Highway 1, the bottleneck has been removed, breaking the isolation of Phu Yen province, opening the door to trade, promoting socio -economic development, creating momentum for industrial and tourism development in the Central coastal region, strengthening regional linkages, and connecting Phu Yen with the Van Phong economic zone and Nha Trang city, neighboring industrial zones and tourist areas in the region.
The Hai Van Tunnel is the longest road tunnel in Southeast Asia, with a total length of over 12.6 km, connecting Thua Thien Hue province and Da Nang city.
Once operational, the tunnel will reduce travel time for vehicles to approximately 15 minutes, compared to over 60 minutes via the mountain pass. This will create momentum for industrial, socio-economic, and tourism development in Thua Thien Hue province, Da Nang city, and the entire Central region, while also serving as a gateway for the East-West transportation axis connecting Laos and Thailand to the East Sea and the world.
In late April 2024, HHV took over the management and operation of an additional section of the North-South Expressway (Eastern section), specifically the Cam Lam – Vinh Hao segment. This North-South Expressway PPP project has a total investment of over 8,900 billion VND, of which HHV participated through a business cooperation model with an investment of over 400 billion VND.
Since the Cam Lam – Vinh Hao expressway officially began collecting tolls at the end of May 2024, an average of over 9,000 vehicles have passed through the route each day, exceeding the initial financial plan's projections.
In the medium and long term, traffic volume through the toll stations operated by HHV will continue to increase due to the growing demand for travel and goods transportation along the North-South economic corridor.
At the same time, because most of the transportation projects implemented by HHV anticipate future infrastructure development trends and connect directly with the Eastern North-South Expressway, the company's revenue from BOT toll collection is projected to grow strongly.
