About a decade ago, “Made in China” was still associated with the image of cheap and poor quality products. But now, China leads the world in areas such as artificial intelligence, new energy, photovoltaics, supercomputing and sixth-generation aviation.
According to British media, it is the huge and stable power source that is the foundation that helps the billion-people country make such a strong breakthrough today. Since 2004, China has invested trillions of yuan in developing ultra-high voltage (UHV) power transmission technology, creating the “backbone” for the digital economy .
While other powers have failed for decades, China is the first to fully master the three core technologies of UHV: control-protection, transformers and insulation. To date, the ultra-high voltage power grid has covered the whole country, with a total investment of more than 1.6 trillion yuan. Thanks to this energy "lifeblood", large electricity-consuming industries such as AI, supercomputers or electric vehicles can all develop sustainably.
Experts say China's strategic vision for energy has turned it into a model for the world in the high-tech era. Dear readers, please watch more videos : Top 10 'Scary' Technology Devices of the Future.
