On the evening of May 27, a VietNamNet source reported that a traffic police officer working at the Ninh Hoa Traffic Police Station, under the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police Department, died while on duty. Currently, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Police Department and related units, along with the family, are arranging the funeral for the deceased, the source said.

Earlier, at noon the same day, Lieutenant Colonel P. (40 years old) was on duty on National Highway 1, passing through Ninh Ich Commune, near Ninh Hoa Traffic Police Station (Ninh Hoa Town). Suddenly, a young man riding a motorbike at high speed hit Mr. P. who was on duty. The accident injured Mr. P.

The male traffic police officer was taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. However, due to severe injuries, the traffic police lieutenant colonel did not survive.

After the incident, the motorcyclist involved in the accident was also injured and taken to the hospital. This person tested negative for alcohol and drugs.

Police are investigating to clarify the cause.
