According to the announcements of the Embassy of Japan and the Embassy of Switzerland in Vietnam, on September 13 and 14, 3 humanitarian aid shipments from the AHA Center arrived at Noi Bai Airport. These relief goods are part of the AHA Center's response plan to overcome the consequences of Typhoon Yagi .

Previously, these relief goods were gathered at the Subang Warehouse of the AHA Center in the capital Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).

The relief shipment includes 2,000 household kits, 1,000 evacuation repair kits, 1,000 kitchenware sets and 3,000 personal hygiene kits, with a total value of about 250,000 USD.

Immediately after landing, the shipment was received by the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention - Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam (VCDM) and transported to affected areas such as Yen Bai province and Lao Cai city for local authorities to distribute to people.

The AHA Center was one of the first units to take action to help Vietnam respond to the severe consequences of Typhoon Yagi.

ASEAN’s rapid response has been highly appreciated by Japan and Switzerland, two countries that have been working closely with the AHA Centre. The two countries had previously announced assistance to Vietnam to overcome the consequences of Typhoon Yagi.

"I appreciate the initiative of the AHA Center. This initiative has highlighted the importance of solidarity among neighboring countries in responding to natural disasters like the current one. This is a testament to the relevance and effectiveness of the "One ASEAN, One Response" Statement," said Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki.

Swiss Ambassador to Vietnam Thomas Gass also emphasized: "We are extremely impressed with the AHA Center's response to this emergency. The speed of response of this regional mechanism is a testament to its effectiveness. This has brought pride to the development partners associated with the Center."
