On the afternoon of July 19, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City sent a document to the head of the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City, 21 districts and principals of high schools on instructions for additional enrollment of grade 10 for the 2024-2025 school year at public high schools that have not yet met their enrollment quota.
Accordingly, the subjects participating in the additional admission are students who have taken the entrance exam for grade 10 public schools in the 2024-2025 school year in Ho Chi Minh City and wish to take additional admission to public high schools that have not yet recruited enough students compared to the assigned quota.
The condition for participating in additional admission is that students do not pass any admission wishes to public high schools and must have entrance exam scores of 3 subjects Math, Literature, Foreign Language and priority points (if any) greater than or equal to the standard score of the 3rd wish of the public high school they want to register for additional admission.
For students who have studied at secondary schools in the areas of Can Gio, Nha Be, Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi and Thu Duc City, if they register for high schools in the same area as their secondary school, the total entrance exam score of the candidate will be considered according to the standard score of the first choice of the public high school they want to register for admission.
Each student can only register for additional enrollment at 1 public high school that has not yet met its assigned enrollment quota and cannot change schools after submitting the additional enrollment registration application.
Students wishing to apply for additional admission must submit their application directly to the high school they wish to apply for. The application for additional admission must include a report card of the 10th grade entrance exam results issued by the secondary school and have a red seal.
According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the Admissions Council is responsible for receiving applications within the prescribed time, ensuring that candidates who meet the conditions for additional admission are accepted.
Admission is based on the remaining enrollment quota of the high school, the total score of 3 subjects: Math, Literature, Foreign Language and priority points (if any) of the candidate to determine the additional successful candidates.
Additional admission scores are taken from high to low until the quota is met.
In case the number of admitted candidates exceeds the remaining quota due to many candidates having the same score, the school's Admissions Council will adjust the number of admitted candidates in the spirit that the number of admitted candidates does not exceed the assigned quota.
According to the plan, no later than 5:00 p.m. on July 21, 2024, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City will announce the list of high schools organizing additional enrollment and the enrollment quota of each school on the city's enrollment page at https://ts10.hcm.edu.vn
From July 22, 2024 to 5:00 p.m. on July 27, 2024, high schools will receive applications for additional enrollment.
From July 29, 2024 to July 31, 2024, high schools will conduct enrollment on exam management software.
On August 6, 2024, the list of additional successful candidates will be announced.
From August 7, 2024 to 4:00 p.m. on August 12, 2024, high schools will organize the reception of additional admitted candidates.
The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City noted that high schools will not accept students exceeding their enrollment quota and will not accept additional students registering for enrollment after 4:00 p.m. on August 12, 2024.
