The head of the district party committee in Gia Lai had to return to his old position because of an appointment that went against the procedure.

On the evening of February 3, speaking with Giao Thong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tho, Secretary of Dak Doa District Party Committee confirmed the cancellation of the decision to transfer and appoint Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung from the position of Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee to the position of Head of the District Party Committee's Organization Board.

"This is normal, the appointment was not in accordance with the procedure so it should be redone. The direction of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee was to transfer Mr. Dung to work at the Organizing Committee. After implementing the decisions, the district reviewed and discovered that the procedures and regulations were not in accordance. Therefore, the District Party Committee had to cancel the appointment decision and redo it correctly."

Regarding the above incident, a leader of Gia Lai province said he had not heard any information about this appointment.

According to regulations, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, member of Dak Doa District Party Committee, is a personnel managed by the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee. The transfer and appointment of Mr. Dung must have the opinion of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and the opinion of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee.

"According to the process of organizing cadres, before appointing leaders of the District Party Executive Committee, Dak Doa district must have a document requesting the policy of the superiors according to the procedure. After receiving the consent and consensus of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Gia Lai Provincial Party Standing Committee is allowed to carry out the next steps on cadre work," said this leader.

Previously, on December 26, 2023, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tho, Secretary of Dak Doa District Party Committee, signed a decision to transfer Mr. Dung - District Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee to be Head of the Organizing Committee from January 5, 2024.
