University of Electricity goes to flood areas to support people and schools

GD&TĐ - Staff, lecturers and students of the Electric Power University (EPU) have not shied away from difficulties and actively supported people in Thai Nguyen province affected by storms and floods.

On the morning of October 12, staff, lecturers and volunteer students from the University of Electricity arrived in Thai Nguyen province - a locality that suffered heavy damage caused by storm No. 11 - to support people and many schools in overcoming the consequences of the storm and flood.

As soon as they arrived, the volunteers quickly got to work: cleaning and rearranging the cultural house and school in the area. At the same time, they supported people in difficult circumstances and lonely elderly people to clean, sanitize, and stabilize their lives.

EPU students repaired many motorbikes damaged by flooding and fixed and replaced electrical equipment in damaged households and facilities.

In particular, Associate Professor Dr. Dinh Van Chau - Principal of the University of Electricity directly visited, encouraged and presented 100 million VND through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thai Nguyen province, to support local people to soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

The representative of the Board of Directors of the University of Electricity emphasized that the activity is a clear demonstration of the spirit of "mutual love", social responsibility and the desire to contribute of the youth of the University of Electricity - contributing to spreading positive energy, together with the whole country towards the localities heavily affected by natural disasters.

Due to the impact of storm No. 11, many northern provinces were flooded, affecting people's property. Promoting the spirit of "mutual love", "helping each other", joining hands and helping people in difficulty, according to the plan, the University of Electricity will send about 250 more lecturers and students to localities to support people and schools to overcome the consequences of floods.
