Leaders, experts and scientists of the two units attended the cooperation signing ceremony.
Attending the signing ceremony, on the HCMUS side, there were Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Le Quan - Rector; Professor, Dr. Chau Van Tao - Former Vice Rector and representatives of leaders of specialized units such as: Department of External Relations, Department of Science and Technology, Faculty of Physics - Technical Physics and Nuclear Engineering Laboratory.
On the side of VINATOM, there were Dr. Tran Chi Thanh - Director; Dr. Hoang Sy Than - Head of Planning and Science Management Department; Associate Professor, Dr. Trinh Anh Duc - Director of Nuclear Training Center; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cuong - Director of Radiation Technology Research and Development Center; MSc. Tran Thi Bich Lien - Deputy Director in charge of Ho Chi Minh City Nuclear Center; Prof. Dr. Phan Dinh Tuan - Member of the Science, Technology and Training Council; Associate Professor, Dr. Ho Manh Dung - Former Director of Ho Chi Minh City Nuclear Center.
The Memorandum of Understanding identifies four main areas of cooperation between the two parties:
- Training: Implement programs on nuclear power technology, postgraduate training and human resource development to serve Vietnam's nuclear energy projects.
- Research and application: Cooperation in research on radiation technology, equipment manufacturing, research on new pharmaceuticals and radioactive isotopes.
- Facilities: Invest in and upgrade laboratories and enhance in-depth research capacity.
- Strategic infrastructure: The University of Science and its member units of VNU-HCM will exploit a horizontal channel on the new research reactor of the Center for Nuclear Science and Technology Research located in Dong Nai .
Representatives of the University of Natural Sciences and the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute exchanged the memorandum of understanding after the signing ceremony.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Le Quan - Principal said: "Over the years, with the mission of training high-quality human resources, the school has always focused on developing key areas, including nuclear engineering - a science of strategic importance in the process of industrial development and national energy security. We are currently coordinating with the Ministry of Science and Technology to build a modern laboratory to serve training and in-depth research. With its responsibility, the school is committed to investing the best resources, mobilizing the participation of lecturers and researchers, as well as expanding international cooperation, to develop specialized training programs, in line with practical requirements and technological trends of the world."

Dr. Tran Chi Thanh - Director of the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute also expressed his pleasure to meet the leaders of the University. Through this, the two sides will continue to foster a long-term cooperative relationship to develop a team of highly qualified experts, serving the nuclear power development program and the application of nuclear technology in many fields.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Manh Dung - Former Director of Ho Chi Minh City Nuclear Center discussed in depth about scientific research and application of nuclear technology, contributing to the development of high-quality human resources for the atomic energy industry.
The signing of the agreement between the University of Natural Sciences, VNU-HCM and the Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute is a new step forward in the cooperative relationship. The two sides expect that in the near future, they will jointly develop cooperation programs and joint projects, contributing to the sustainable development of the nuclear energy industry in the context of international integration.
