In 2025, Vietnam-Japan University, Vietnam National University, Hanoi will use the following admission methods:
Direct admission, priority admission according to Article 8 of the Admission Regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and priority admission according to the regulations of Hanoi National University; Direct admission, priority admission according to the Specific Regulations and Admission Instructions of Hanoi National University; Considering the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam; Admission based on the results of the competency assessment test for high school students (HSA) organized by Hanoi National University; Considering the results of the standardized SAT exam (Scholastic Assessment Test, US); Considering foreign language certificates combined with the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam; Considering competency profiles (profile assessment and interview).
Notably, Vietnam-Japan University uses 33 admission combinations, including combinations using subjects from the 2018 General Education Program such as: Economic and Legal Education, Agricultural Technology.

In 2025, Vietnam-Japan University will enroll 750 students for 9 majors/training programs. The school will open 3 new training programs, including: Global Innovation and Development; Semiconductor Chip Engineering Technology (Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology); Intelligent Control and Automation (Control Engineering and Automation).

Vietnam-Japan University notes that candidates who graduated from high school before 2025 and registered for admission using the high school graduation exam scores are required to retake the subjects according to the admission combination in the 2025 High School Graduation Exam.
The school's majors/training programs have tuition fees of 58 million VND/year; the Civil Engineering major alone has tuition fees of 25 million VND/year.
