According to the reflection of lecturers at Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture, this school has owed lecturers nearly 3 months of salary due to the lack of a principal. The lack of a principal also causes difficulties in signing graduation certificates for students.
This afternoon (December 6), speaking with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporter, Mr. Bui Van Viet, Head of General Administration Department, Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture, provided specific information about the school's lecturer salary debt situation.
Accordingly, Mr. Viet confirmed that Mr. Nguyen The Dung, who previously held the position of Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture, had officially resigned from his position since October 1. From the beginning of October to the end of November, while there was no one in charge to replace him, the school was unable to pay salaries to staff and lecturers according to regulations.
Therefore, the school has made a bank advance of 2 billion VND to pay salaries and additional income in October in cash to employees. On November 28, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture Council announced and handed over a resolution assigning the task of being in charge of the school to Dr. Trinh Dang Khoa, Vice Principal of the school, during the time of completing the principal's personnel. According to the resolution, the assignment of the above task is to ensure the school's operations and have someone in the name of the unit's account holder, to sign diplomas and certificates for students.
"With this resolution, the school has resolved important issues such as salary payment, graduation certificate signing and other tasks. Although it is behind schedule, the school is completing procedures to transfer November and December salaries to staff and employees in the next few days," Mr. Viet added.
