Teachers' efforts, sweet fruits for students

Ms. Tran Ho Ly - Vice Principal of Nguyen Trai Secondary School (Tan Ky Commune, Nghe An) although she has been working in management for nearly 20 years, she has never stopped being a core teacher. Although she does not directly teach as much as a teacher, she often teaches 9th grade classes and is willing to teach extra periods and extra sessions to support her colleagues and nurture students in the important final year of school.

In addition, for many years she has been in charge of training the school's excellent literature students to participate in competitions for excellent students at the grassroots and provincial levels. "For many teachers, training excellent students is a stressful job, especially when they have worked in management and are in charge of many professional tasks and school work. However, for me, this is both a challenge and an opportunity for me to contribute and share my experiences with colleagues. I am also very happy to directly accompany and train students.

Previously, teacher Tran Ho Ly was recognized 3 times as an excellent teacher at Nghe An province level and is also the only teacher of Nguyen Trai Secondary School to be honored with the title of Excellent Teacher. This is a title and achievement that is not easy to obtain and maintain for teachers at a school in the mountainous area of ​​Nghe An.

Nguyen Trai Secondary School currently has 22 classes with more than 900 students. This is a very special school, both providing universal education to local students and being a key school with the mission of improving the quality of education for the commune and neighboring mountainous communes. Therefore, the staff and teachers of the school always strive to fulfill both of these responsibilities.

Teacher Nguyen Thi Oanh, a Civic Education teacher, has nearly 20 years of teaching experience and has participated in training excellent students. According to Ms. Oanh, in the opinion of many students, Civic Education is not a major subject. They focus and spend more time on Math, Literature and other subjects that can be selected as entrance exams for grade 10.

However, this does not mean that this is an unimportant subject and that teachers can neglect it. On the contrary, the role of Civic Education is to train life skills and foster in students an awareness of cultural, ethical, emotional values, etc. that are practical for school-age children.

To create interest for the students, she applies innovative teaching methods. In particular, she focuses on exploiting learning materials on platforms, applying videos , life lessons with many meaningful messages to enrich the lessons.

During the teaching and learning process in class, she always encourages each student to develop their abilities and understanding, in order to differentiate and create resources for the excellent student competition team. As for parents, seeing the changes in their children, from daily behavior, to understanding, love, gratitude, sharing and helping... they are very supportive and pay more attention to the subject. Many parents agree, support and are happy when their children join the excellent student team in Civic Education.

With her love for the profession, her dedication and responsibility, in the past 5 years, Ms. Nguyen Thi Oanh has led the school's students to many high prizes in provincial competitions for excellent students. Among them, 2 students won the top position in the province, and the school's team also continuously held the first and second positions in the years of competition.

Mr. Nguyen Canh Hung - Principal of the school said, Nguyen Trai Secondary School is located in a mountainous commune of Nghe An province. Besides the advantages from the attention of local authorities and the provincial education sector, the school also faces common difficulties such as: lack of teachers, uneven quality of students in mountainous areas, teaching conditions that do not meet the teaching requirements of the 2018 General Education Program.

Currently, the school is one of the 9 key high-quality schools in Nghe An province, and has been in the top of the province for many consecutive years in terms of excellent student exam results and 10th grade admission. At the 2025 Nghe An Province Patriotic Emulation Congress, Nguyen Trai Secondary School was the only secondary school in the province to be honored and commended.

In the past 5 years, the school has had 1,388 students pass the district-level excellent student exam, 90 students pass the provincial-level excellent student exam, always ranked in the top 5 of the province, and one year ranked 3rd in the province; 61 students passed the Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted and Vinh University for the Gifted.

In addition, dozens of students won prizes at intellectual, skill, sports and cultural playgrounds of ministries and branches such as: 8 prizes at the Traffic Safety for Tomorrow's Smiles contest, 22 prizes at the Reading Culture Ambassador contest, Young Informatics and Phu Dong Sports Festival at provincial and national levels... Nguyen Trai Secondary School also received 2 Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee.
