An Giang plans to start construction of 3 school construction projects in border communes on November 2.

GD&TĐ - The People's Committee of An Giang province has registered with the Ministry of Education and Training to hold the groundbreaking ceremony for three school construction projects in border communes on November 2.

On October 29, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee chaired a working session on the implementation of project investment preparation work, and the plan to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for school construction projects in border communes.

At the working session, the Departments, Boards and Branches, according to their functions and tasks, reported on the progress of project investment preparation, problems and difficulties; preparation work, conditions for organizing groundbreaking ceremonies and proposed and commented on plans to organize groundbreaking ceremonies for the projects.

According to the report of the Department of Education and Training of An Giang province, the Provincial People's Committee has directed departments, branches and localities to urgently organize and synchronously implement solutions, striving for 3 schools to start construction in 2025, and complete and put into use before August 30, 2026.

Following the direction of the Central Government, the People's Committee of An Giang province has registered with the Ministry of Education and Training to hold the groundbreaking ceremony of 3 projects on November 2, 2025; proposed to invite Party and State leaders to directly attend the groundbreaking ceremony at Vinh Gia Primary - Secondary Boarding School (Vinh Gia commune).

The Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1650 dated October 23, 2025 on applying the investment mechanism according to the order and procedures of special public investment projects for 3 school construction projects in border communes.

Regarding preparations for the groundbreaking ceremony, the investor presides over and coordinates with the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Culture and Sports , the Provincial People's Committee Office, relevant units and localities to prepare and implement the contents.

In her speech, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged and commended the positive spirit and responsibility of the Departments, investors, and localities who promptly and actively performed their tasks, closely following the direction of the Provincial People's Committee to deploy the investment in building schools for border communes.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Departments, Boards, Sectors, investors, and localities to urgently carry out tasks according to the plan. During the implementation process, proactively coordinate closely, promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee for direction, and remove difficulties and obstacles...

Ensure the groundbreaking ceremony takes place in a secure, safe, humane, and meaningful manner, demonstrating the special care of the Party and State for the people and students in the border area.

In the 2025 - 2026 period, An Giang will build 3 schools in 3 border communes (total estimated capital of about 388,794 billion VND), including:

Vinh Gia Primary - Secondary Boarding School (Vinh Gia commune) has an investment scale of 45 classrooms (20 primary classes and 25 secondary classes); a total of 1,500 students, with about 600 boarding students.

Giang Thanh Primary - Secondary Boarding School (Giang Thanh commune) has an investment scale of 30 classes (12 primary classes and 18 secondary classes); a total of 1,000 students, with about 430 boarding students.

Khanh An Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Khanh Binh Commune) has an investment scale of 45 classrooms (32 primary classes and 13 secondary classes); a total of 1,500 students, with about 96 boarding students.
