Communication ensures security and safety of offshore oil and gas projects

The Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard Command has organized many communication activities to raise awareness and responsibility of fishermen and ship owners to participate in protecting the security and safety of marine gas pipelines and works.

Phuoc Hai Border Guard Station distributes leaflets with printed coordinates and information of offshore oil and gas projects to fishermen.

On October 14 and 15, at the Border Guard Stations of Binh Chau, Phuoc Hai and Phuoc Tinh (HCMC), the HCM City Border Guard Command coordinated with the Southeast Gas Transportation Company and the Nam Con Son Gas Pipeline Company (under the Vietnam Gas Corporation) to organize a Communication Conference on protecting the safety and security of marine gas pipelines in 2025.

More than 200 fishermen, captains and owners of fishing vessels in the areas of the Border Guard Stations in charge of participating were informed and instructed on the main contents. These were the importance of national oil and gas projects at sea; instructions for fishermen and owners of vehicles not to anchor, raise, grow aquatic products, catch seafood and use explosives in the safety corridor of offshore gas pipelines; how to recognize signs of gas leaks in offshore gas pipelines and handling measures...

Representatives of the city's Border Guard also disseminated basic information on the prevention of illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
