From March 1, where do Long An residents submit applications for driver's licenses?

On the morning of February 28th, the Long An Department of Transport held a ceremony to transfer the responsibility of conducting driving tests and issuing driver's licenses to the Provincial Police Department.

At the handover ceremony, Mr. Dang Hoan Tuan, Director of the Long An Department of Transport, stated that after March 1st, the Department will no longer be responsible for issuing or renewing driver's licenses .

The Department continues to coordinate, guide, and support traffic police units and officers of the Provincial Police to proficiently perform their professional duties, operate the software system for managing and receiving applications for driver's license renewal and reissuance, and issue international driver's licenses both directly and online.

The Long An Department of Transport has transferred the responsibility for testing and issuing driver's licenses for motor vehicles to the Provincial Police Department.

In addition, the Long An Department of Transport also encourages people with driver's licenses that are still valid for a long time to continue using them and not to renew them. The authorities only prioritize processing driver's license renewal procedures when the license is about to expire.

According to Mr. Tuan, to avoid a backlog of applications and to protect the rights of citizens, from February 25th to 28th, the Long An Department of Transport will only accept applications for renewal or reissuance of driver's licenses valid until March 15th.

According to the Traffic Police Department of Long An province, after March 1st, people can continue to submit applications for issuing and renewing driver's licenses at the Long An Provincial Public Administration Center.

Also at this handover ceremony, Mr. Tuan said that throughout the province, there are 7 driving test centers, including: one type 1 driving test center (testing for automatic B1, B2, C, D and E licenses), and 6 type 3 driving test centers (testing only for A1 licenses).

Long An province has 500,800 driver's licenses for cars and motorcycles.
