On the morning of September 18, Mr. Thai Ho Phuong, Director of the Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center, said that in order to facilitate people to use virtual cards (non-physical cards) to participate in public passenger transport even when there is no internet connection, the Center continues to deploy offline virtual cards for customers from September 20, 2024. Immediately after updating the new version on the "HN Traffic Ticket Card" application, customers can use the offline virtual card form without needing an internet connection during the entire use process. The offline virtual monthly ticket card (non-physical card) is easy to use, suitable for all passengers and all subjects while information is still securely protected. Regarding the implementation of offline virtual monthly tickets (non-physical cards) for the public passenger transport system in Hanoi, the Hanoi Traffic Management and Operation Center is the unit that manages and operates the public passenger transport system in the city. In recent years, the Center has been implementing many scientific research tasks and applying technology in the field of public passenger transport with the goal of gradually transforming digitally to improve the quality of management activities and make public transport a convenient means of transport for people. Hanoi currently has 153 bus routes in operation, including 128 subsidized routes, 9 non-subsidized routes; 13 adjacent bus routes and 3 city tour routes. In recent years, the public passenger transport network by bus has had positive improvements in service quality. However, the goal of meeting 30-35% of people's travel needs is still a big challenge.
