Despite facing strong reactions from the old mechanism, this innovative thinking later became the foundation for the Central Committee to issue Directive 100 (1981) and Resolution 10 (1988) - Household contracts, creating a major turning point for Vietnamese agriculture , from having to import food to becoming the world's leading food exporter.
The press during this period quickly got involved, reflecting the practical implementation of household contracts, from pilot to expansion; the change in thinking from "taking output as the center" to "taking economic efficiency and people's interests as the center". Press agencies such as Nhan Dan, Nong Thon Ngay Nay, Tuoi Tre, Tien Phong... actively reflected the practice, explained policies, spread advanced examples, criticized problems from the grassroots, contributing to strengthening farmers' confidence.

Columns such as agricultural information of the Provincial Radio and Television Station, rural agriculture of Vinh Phuc Newspaper not only provide information on smart agricultural farming models, using digital technology such as IoT, big data, or artificial intelligence (AI) to manage production, forecast weather, improve productivity and product quality but also contribute to creating innovative thinking, promoting the digitalization and modernization process in agricultural production, from traceability, monitoring with IoT technology, to e-commerce in agricultural product consumption for farmers.

Not only in normal conditions, the team of reporters of Vinh Phuc Newspaper also devoted themselves to working in the midst of natural disasters, typically during storm No. 3 (September 2024) - the strongest storm in the past 30 years in the East Sea. Timely images and information from flooded areas, landslides, etc. demonstrated the sense of responsibility and love for the profession of journalists.
After more than 20 years in journalism, writing about agriculture, especially flood and storm prevention, I have witnessed many losses of people in places where storms have passed, especially the recent storm No. 3, which left unforgettable emotions in my journalism career.
As soon as the circulation of storm No. 3 affected the North, including Vinh Phuc province, under the direction of the Editorial Board, I immediately set out, regardless of the danger, to vulnerable areas, landslides, and constructions at risk of being unsafe.
In Song Lo, Lap Thach, and Tam Duong districts - where rice fields had just entered the season and were flattened, floodwaters overflowed through Cau Trieu drainage culvert (former Trieu De commune, Lap Thach district), and people in Son Dong commune were submerged in water, completely isolated, trying to capture the most authentic images.

Continuing to innovate, specialize and create - that is the goal and the way the press contributes to bringing Vietnamese agriculture towards modernity, sustainability and integration.
