Many great journalists and writers have come to Quang Ninh to work, such as General Vo Nguyen Giap with a series of investigative articles after the general strike of Cam Pha workers in 1936; writer Nguyen Hong with the reportage "Black Dust" written from the real life of Vang Danh miners. During the resistance wars against France and the US, Quang Ninh press continued to develop strongly with many publications such as “Song Bach Dang”, “Hai Ninh resistance”, “Vung coal”, “Tho miner”... contributing to propagating and encouraging the fighting spirit of the local army and people. Outstanding works such as the photos “American pilot bows his head” and “Uncle Ho lifts the 4 millionth ton of coal” by journalist Cong Vuong left a deep mark in the history of revolutionary press. Previous generations of journalists laid the foundation for Quang Ninh press, veteran pen names and reporters such as: Cong Vuong, Nhu Mai, Nguyen Son Hai, Nguyen Ngoc Chanh... were the ones who passed on the torch, leaving a valuable legacy for the next generation. In addition, the grassroots collaborators, those from the education, industry, health sectors, etc., have contributed to forming a team of professional and enthusiastic journalists. The movement of literature and art, mass journalism creation has developed strongly, creating an abundant source of human resources for the provincial press. In particular, Quang Ninh is a pioneer in the country in merging press and media agencies and establishing the Provincial Media Center in 2019. This is a strategic step in the trend of developing the press economy , applying modern technology, keeping up with the digital age and international integration. It is clear to see the historical role and great contributions of Quang Ninh press throughout the revolutionary journey, from propaganda, fighting to innovation. From newspapers, radio stations to the provincial Media Center today, local press agencies have always accompanied TKV in reflecting the transformation of the Coal industry associated with the sustainable development orientation of Quang Ninh province from “brown” to “green”. Especially in the integration period, the role of the Quang Ninh Provincial Media Center - a modern unified media unit operating on multiple platforms has contributed to widely promoting the image of the coal industry. Special pages, columns, reports, and articles not only honor typical individuals: Nguyen Trong Thai (Ha Lam Coal), Pham Dinh Duan (Vang Danh Coal) but also recognize initiatives, technical improvements, living conditions, and the spirit of mutual love of miners. Thoroughly grasping Resolution 35-NQ/TW of the Politburo and the latest instructions from the Central Government, Quang Ninh province has promoted the role of the press in defending justice and refuting false information. Currently, Quang Ninh has a Provincial Media Center, the first press consolidation model in the country, along with 56 central and local press agencies operating permanently.  Dr. Pham Thi Hue, Vice Principal of Ha Long University: “Digital transformation in journalism training in Quang Ninh – From the practice of Ha Long University”The Journalism and Communication Department at Ha Long University, although newly established, has quickly introduced digital transformation into teaching practice. Courses such as multimedia communication, photojournalism, film editing techniques, etc. are integrated with new technologies such as Canva, Adobe Premiere, Capcut, and even AI tools such as ChatGPT, Suno AI, D-ID, etc. Lecturers proactively design digital lectures, guide students to do journalism using smartphones, submit assignments via QR codes, study in groups via social networks, and give online presentations, etc., helping to form flexible thinking and familiarize themselves with the digital working environment early on. In particular, students have proactively established and operated the fanpage “HALOU Literature – Journalism – Communication”, which is both a place to post learning products and a communication channel connecting generations of students, clearly demonstrating the dynamism and spirit of practical journalism.
