- Mushroom growing prospects
- Developing straw mushroom cultivation
Determined to change his life through mushroom growing, Mr. Phat has diligently participated in all training and technology transfer classes of the cooperative and the local agricultural sector. In addition, Mr. Phat has also actively researched and tried the latest clean mushroom growing techniques online.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phat harvests mushrooms.
For example, he invented a suitable irrigation system for mushrooms to grow faster and more beautifully. His family also worked hard to stay up all night to harvest. Because during this time, when the mushrooms have just bloomed, the product will be more delicious and will not crack. It is from this economic model with both low investment costs and stable output that Mr. Phat's family income has increased many times compared to before.
Mr. Nguyen Van Phat shared: "After investing in the farm, I boldly tested about 3,000 embryos. After 2 months of mushroom growth, I started harvesting continuously for 4 months, the yield was about 80 to 100kg of mushrooms, the selling price was about 45 thousand VND/kg. In 6 months, my family earned more than 40 million VND. From this efficiency, I plan to expand the farm to about 6,000 embryos. Hopefully, if everything goes well, my family's life will be better."
Gray oyster mushrooms are considered a clean and safe food because the cultivation process does not use any toxic chemicals.
In order to increase income for local people, especially poor, near-poor and newly escaped poverty households, the Commune Women's Union as well as the Hoa Tien Clean Mushroom Cooperative have encouraged the expansion of the gray oyster mushroom growing model. Because this model is effective and brings high economic value. In particular, the Cooperative also aims to build a brand of clean and safe agricultural products so that the output of the products is both quality and more stable.
Mr. Ly Van Den, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director of Hoa Tien Clean Mushroom Cooperative, said: "The cooperative was established from the local mushroom cooperative group with 32 members. In the past, the cooperative has coordinated with the locality and functional sectors to support members through technical training courses from hanging spawn to irrigation. Supporting consumption, especially we are actively looking for output for the products. The cooperative has also established a model of members contributing capital (500 thousand VND in rotation) to promptly support members who encounter risks and incidents during the production process. The criteria of the cooperative is to produce clean products, supporting people to send samples for testing to be certified as safe products. In the future, the cooperative will coordinate with functional sectors to implement OCOP recognition procedures for Hoa Tien Gray Oyster Mushrooms".
