Kindness is sometimes just the act of young people giving up their seats to the elderly. (Source: NLĐ) |
In the rush of modern life, people sometimes become distant, dry and indifferent. However, just a small action such as holding hands when crossing the street, a greeting, or giving up a seat to the elderly, even though they are everyday behaviors, is enough to light up the belief in kindness in each of us. Especially, when the young people, the future generation of the country, take the initiative to spread that humanity, it is not only a beautiful gesture, but also a testament to the vitality of morality and good traditions of the nation.
During the recent 30/4 celebration, the image of students giving up their seats to veterans – those who sacrificed their youth for national independence – moved many people. They did not do it to be recognized or praised, but simply because gratitude and kindness had grown in them through each page of books, each teaching and through the empathy from their hearts.
Remembering the flood in the North last year, the image of trucks and cars driving slowly, helping motorbikes through heavy rain and strong winds on Nhat Tan Bridge ( Hanoi ) was a touching and warm moment. Or the story of apartments and hotels opening their doors to welcome homeless people to take shelter from the storm, and receive free meals; people silently sharing food and drinks are heartwarming stories during the flood season, creating a beautiful picture of kindness in everyday life.
When Phong Chau bridge ( Phu Tho ) collapsed, Mr. Ngo Van Khanh immediately ran to the river bank about a kilometer away. At this time, the young man discovered a victim struggling in the midst of the raging flood. Immediately, he ran down to the boat, swam upstream to rescue without hesitation...
That is, humanity and kindness exist everywhere. Kindness is not something too big, sometimes, it is just listening when others need to share, helping when someone is in trouble, or bowing respectfully to the person in front. It could be a young person holding the hand of an old person or a child crossing the street, a driver stopping to let a pedestrian pass...
It can also be a larger action such as calling for environmental protection, establishing a charity, helping people in difficult circumstances. These seemingly ordinary gestures contain great power to influence and spread. It is from these small things that personality is formed, people's hearts are cultivated and society is enriched with sustainable values.

Young people today live in a volatile society, where technology develops rapidly, information and competition sometimes blur the real connections between people. Therefore, nurturing kindness is important. It is the foundation that helps young people not only succeed in their careers, but also become people who know how to live for the community, know how to love and share.
The actions of young people giving up their seats to the elderly or truck drivers or car drivers helping motorbikes during a storm... are beautiful images that awaken kindness in each person, reminding us that living kindly is a choice and anyone can choose regardless of the circumstances.
In a society that is constantly moving and changing, kindness will keep people with the fundamental values: respect, gratitude and community spirit. Especially, when young people - those who are contributing to shaping the future of the country - know how to live kindly, it is a good sign for the sustainable and humane development of society.
British philosopher, political economist, and social activist John Stuart Mill said: “In the long run, the best evidence of a man's good character is his good deeds.”
In a speech, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son emphasized that comprehensive education for the young generation in terms of morality, intelligence, physical fitness and aesthetics is an important goal of Vietnamese education. In the context of building a socialist-oriented market economy and deep international integration, the young generation needs to be comprehensively educated and develop their personality, ethics, awareness, responsibility and capacity to perform tasks with a high sense of responsibility in all jobs and become good Vietnamese citizens and global citizens.
Someone said, kindness in a child is like a full glass of water. Every day we must pour kindness, compassion, politeness, honesty into our children and maintain kindness in each child.
In the context of digital technology, we cannot use old thinking to care for, nurture and educate children. Therefore, we need a new, correct thinking and technological solutions to form and develop digital actions as well as personality and ethics for children. At the same time, we need to let children practice regularly, self-reflect and adjust their behavior to become good people in the future.
Kindness is not something far away, it starts today, from ourselves...
