On the morning of June 27, at the Kon Tum Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities (Kon Tum City, Kon Tum), hundreds of parents gathered here very early to cheer and encourage their children to participate in the 2024 high school graduation exam.

Quite confident with literature

On the morning of June 27, the weather in Kon Tum City was quite hot, forcing parents to find shade to sit while waiting for their children to take their graduation exams. Volunteers were also always on duty in front of the exam site to support candidates when needed.

After finishing the exam and leaving the exam room first, candidate Nguyen Ngoc An Thy (grade 12, Nguyen Tat Thanh High School, Kon Tum City) was quite confident with her performance. Thy said that this year's literature exam was relatively suitable for her ability, especially the reading comprehension and literary essay sections. However, this year's exam also had a high level of differentiation, with candidates with average academic ability being able to score 6-7 points, while more difficult questions were for candidates with good academic ability.

An Thy said she is taking the social science exam and plans to apply to Da Nang University of Education and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Ho Chi Minh City National University.

At the gate of the exam site, Mrs. Phan Thi Hiep (42 years old, in Ngoc Wang commune, Dak Ha district, Kon Tum) was happy when her daughter Lai Thi Bong Ly just finished her first exam. Mrs. Hiep confided that she had been tossing and turning the night before because she was worried about her daughter taking the important exam. On the morning of June 27, Mrs. Hiep woke up very early, after cooking for her family. At 5:30 a.m. the same day, Mrs. Hiep drove her motorbike from home nearly 30 km back to the city to cheer for her daughter. While waiting for her daughter to take the exam, Mrs. Hiep was quite worried and nervous.

"My daughter is a boarding school student so she is provided with meals, sleep, and rest at the exam site. Even so, I still want to go to school to cheer her on so she can be confident in her graduation exam. Last night, I told her to come to the gate after finishing her exam so I could take her out to eat. This morning, as soon as she finished her exam, she ran out. Seeing her do well on the test made me feel a little less worried," said Ms. Hiep.

Falling into her mother's arms, Lai Thi Bong Ly said that thanks to careful review, she did quite well on the literature exam. "Having my mother come to school to cheer me on, I felt more motivated and energetic to do well on the exam," Ly said.

Add positive energy

Not far away, the family of Ms. Y Tuom (38 years old) was also congratulating her daughter on her successful completion of the literature exam. Ms. Tuom said that at 5:00 a.m., she and her husband traveled more than 50 km from the border commune of Ro Koi (Sa Thay district) to the city to encourage their daughter Y Thuyn to take the graduation exam. Y Thuyn is a 12th grade student at Kon Tum Province Boarding High School for Ethnic Minorities. Although the school had arranged food and accommodation for her to take the exam, Ms. Tuom's family still wanted to go there to cheer for their daughter.

With her parents' encouragement and support, Y Thuyn was given more positive energy to complete the exam well.

After finishing the literature exam, Y Thuyn was very happy and excited to see her parents waiting for her. She shared her joy with her family with a happy smile and a tight hug.

"My parents came from the border to the city to cheer and encourage me, giving me more energy to complete the exams well. With the literature exam, I believe I can get about 8 points. I hope to achieve the best results in the exam to pass the primary education major at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education," Y Thuyn said excitedly.

After a few minutes of meeting her family, Y Thuyn said goodbye to her parents to go to the dormitory to have lunch and rest before continuing her afternoon exam. She said that even though she was only with her parents for a few minutes, it was enough for her to feel more confident and calm. Saying goodbye to her daughter, Tuom and her husband also took the opportunity to find a hammock nearby to lie down and wait for her daughter to take the second exam.

With encouragement from their families, many candidates feel confident and have more motivation.

"My child is taking an exam, so I let him eat at school to ensure hygiene and safety. My husband and I stay here until the afternoon, waiting for him to finish his math exam to share his joy, encourage him, and give him some advice. In the evening, my husband and I run home and come back early the next day because we don't have a place to stay. This exam is very important to my child, so the family is always by his side, giving him positive energy to be confident," Ms. Y Tuom confided.
