The closing ceremony and award ceremony of the Youth Imprint in Me contest (launched from May 24 to June 30) will take place from 9am on August 8 at Nguyen Van Binh Book Street, Ho Chi Minh City.
The contest is organized by Tuoi Tre newspaper with the support of Construction Corporation No. 1 - JSC (CC1), on the occasion of the newspaper's 50th anniversary, so that readers, those who love and are attached to Tuoi Tre , can tell stories and unforgettable memories associated with Tuoi Tre newspaper over the past half century.
A connected community of readers
Within a month of launching, there were more than 700 entries sent in by readers across the country, demonstrating the position of a newspaper called "national diary" as in the article by author Nguyen Tien Binh (HCMC).
Through the stories told by readers, Tuoi Tre appears not only as a trusted companion always accompanying the country's major events but also reflects the thoughts and aspirations of the people.
Reading the articles Coming to Tuoi Tre, I received affection (author Hoang Lam Giang), The little girl who was supported by Tuoi Tre that day, has grown up (Nguyen Tran Thanh Truc), Flying with Tuoi Tre (Pham Van Trung), Tuoi Tre changed my life (Nguyen Manh Huy)... one can see that in a special moment of fate, for someone, Tuoi Tre still lights up hope, light for people to continue moving forward.
Sometimes Tuoi Tre is a memory of a shady but beautiful past. The story of a poor student who was given free Tuoi Tre by an old newspaper vendor , which opened up an exciting adventure in life. Or simply the unforgettable moment when opening the newspaper and seeing his name on the list of candidates with high scores at the university, he shouted loudly in the middle of the street.
Readers remember everything about Tuoi Tre . From the story of the newspaper's three years of establishment, readers came to attend and crowded the door of the Youth Cultural House hall.
Remembering the newspaper from when it was the Thanh Doan newsletter, weekly, every other day, daily newspaper... to Tuoi Tre Online , the Tuoi Tre ecosystem today. The humanitarian programs that the newspaper launched were also mentioned by readers: Supporting to go to school, Thuy's dream, Contributing stones to build Truong Sa ...

Reader Dang Hoang An (former lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education), author of the article Tuoi Tre lifts me up, so I can continue walking , told him about the contest information thanks to following Tuoi Tre every day. He told himself that he had to write right away because there weren't many opportunities for him to open his heart and express his feelings for the newspaper he loved.
During the time of depression after the accident that "robbed" him of his legs, inspirational articles from the newspaper, especially about overcoming adversity, lifted An up and helped him get out of that dark quagmire.
Dang Hoang An said he "is grateful to Tuoi Tre not only for the writing but also for the team of journalists who always encourage and motivate, making disadvantaged people like me feel warm."
Not only did he write an article to submit to the contest, he also invited others to participate in the contest. Because as An said, " Tuoi Tre has created a separate community of readers where people who love the newspaper connect with each other by another bridge."
After submitting his article, every morning he went to Tuoi Tre to read other entries, many of which were "extremely good and touching". For An, winning a prize or not was not the most important thing, just being published was already a great joy.
"More than 700 entries sent within a month is a huge success for Tuoi Tre , showing how much Tuoi Tre is loved. If the time was extended, I'm sure the number wouldn't stop there. That is completely worthy of what the newspaper has worked hard to build over the past half century," he said.

Hope Tuoi Tre continues to maintain its position
Ms. Lam Minh Trang (HCMC) shared that her whole family has considered Tuoi Tre the most trusted source for the family for nearly 40 years. When the family had a little extra money, her mother often asked her daughter to bring money to support community programs launched by the newspaper.
In Ms. Trang's heart, Tuoi Tre has long gone beyond the framework of a City Youth Union newsletter to become a national newspaper.
"Many negative cases were exposed thanks to Tuoi Tre , the newspaper became a place where society placed its trust," she said.
She said that during her years working in the education sector, when parents knew she was a contributor to Tuoi Tre newspaper, they believed that she was not "sleazy", "living a sinful life" and had a heart for education. That was what made her not dare to do bad things.
" Tuoi Tre has given me a 'status' that is enough to keep me from being corrupted and to live a better life. Not only me but also my family," she confided.
Every year on the newspaper's birthday (September 2), Ms. Lam Minh Trang has a habit of writing a long article, sometimes sending it to the newspaper, sometimes posting it on Facebook. Since Tet, she has remembered the 50-year milestone of Tuoi Tre . Her family also reminded her to write something for Tuoi Tre .

She said that even if the newspaper did not launch the Youth Imprint in Me contest , she would still write this article to express her sincere thanks to the newspaper, her family's "best friend".
In the article "Tuoi Tre helps society become more upright and better" , Ms. Trang wrote: "The most profound mark that my family and I always thank Tuoi Tre for is that in addition to being a place to place our trust in fairness, justice, and goodness that the newspaper "Do, Tre, Sai Gon" inherently has, your newspaper is also a place to preserve our best examples - including me. Help them and me to accompany this society to become more upright, better and not worse".
She said: "After 50 years of the newspaper's establishment, I still hope that Tuoi Tre will continue to maintain its position, always stand on the side of justice and the people's interests, helping society become more upright, honest, clean, and civilized."
That is not only Ms. Trang's sentiment but also the sentiment of many readers sent to Tuoi Tre on the occasion of the newspaper's 50th anniversary.

Thank you Tuoi Tre newspaper for not being afraid of difficulties, for boldly fighting to protect the rights of the disadvantaged, and then bringing happiness, justice, and faith to people like me.
On the 50th anniversary of the newspaper's founding, I would like to send the newspaper my best wishes. I believe that Tuoi Tre will continue to promote its role, spreading acts of kindness and compassion so that the unfinished dreams of many people like me in the past will be lit up, so that humanity will always shine like the noble deeds of the Vietnamese press."
