According to The Times Of Israel, Iranian state media confirmed on June 13 that IRGC Commander Hossein Salami was killed in an Israeli airstrike.
"Major General Hossein Salami, head of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, was killed in an Israeli attack on the IRGC headquarters," local news agency Tasnim reported.

In addition to Mr. Salami, Israel believes that the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army, Mohammad Bagheri, Commander of the IRGC's Khatam al-Anbiya Center Gholamali Rashid, nuclear physicist Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi and former Director of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran Fereydoon Abbasi were also killed in the recent fierce airstrike by Tel Aviv.
In a statement broadcast on state television, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps vowed to respond "crushingly" to the Israeli attack.
Meanwhile, according to reports in The Wall Street Journal and Axios , the US has told Israel that it will not participate in any potential attack on Iran's nuclear program in the coming days.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, established after the 1979 Islamic Revolution, is one of the main centers of power in the Iranian regime. It also controls Iran's ballistic missile arsenal, which has been used to attack Israel twice during the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
