With a three-wheeled design, enclosed cabin and six electric propellers, the Skyrider X6 can operate flexibly in both modes: moving like an electric car and flying like a personal flying device. On the ground, the vehicle can reach a maximum speed of 70 km/h and an operating range of up to 200 km (CLTC standard). When switching to flight mode, the Skyrider X6 can reach a speed of 72 km/h, with a flight time of about 20 minutes thanks to the 6-axis electric propulsion system.
Skyrider X6 has a body structure made from lightweight materials including carbon fiber composite and aviation aluminum alloy, helping to optimize weight while ensuring rigidity and safety. The electric motor mounted on the central rear wheel ensures the ability to maintain balance when moving on the ground. In flight mode, the vehicle supports features such as automatic takeoff and landing, automatic route planning, or manual control using the joystick. To ensure safety, the vehicle is equipped with a redundant control and propulsion system, with independent motors on each propeller to avoid the case of a simultaneous loss of thrust. An emergency parachute system can automatically deploy in case of serious failure, increasing the chance of survival in case of an accident.
The Skyrider X6 uses a 10.5 kWh battery pack, supporting standard DC fast charging like an electric car, with a full charge time of about an hour. The interior of the car is minimalist but modern, the flat-bottom steering wheel combined with a digital control screen gives the feeling of controlling a miniature eVTOL model. Notably, the Skyrider X6 is not Kuickwheel’s first product in this field. Previously, at the CES exhibition in the US, the company introduced the Skyrider X1 model, a similar version with two battery options, providing a flight time of up to 40 minutes. This version of the X6 is more oriented towards commercialization, and is now available for pre-sale on JD.com with a price of 498,800 yuan (equivalent to 69,000 USD - about more than 1.5 billion VND).
If legally operated, the Skyrider X6 could significantly reduce travel times within the city, Kuickwheel estimates. For example, the route from Pudong to Puxi (Shanghai), which normally takes 90 minutes by car, could be completed in about 15 minutes using a flying car.
