Zidane's uncertain future

Although Zidane has just revealed his desire to lead the French national team, Italian media believe that this coach is highly likely to lead Juventus.

Zidane's affection for Juventus and the expectations of the fans are heating up the newspapers.

According to reports from Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport, Zidane's arrival at the Allianz Stadium is "sooner or later" due to his deep ties with the club. Zidane, who won two Serie A titles and reached two Champions League finals with Juventus (1996–2001), left his position as Real Madrid coach in 2021.

Recent instability within the Juventus coaching staff has sparked fresh speculation. After sacking Massimiliano Allegri in March 2025, Juventus appointed Thiago Motta and then Igor Tudor, but the team's inconsistent performance - currently 5th in the 2025/26 Serie A table - has left the club's leadership dissatisfied.

During a talk at the Festival dello Sport in Trento on October 12, Zidane even excited Juventus fans when he shared: "I always carry Juventus in my heart because the club has given me a lot. In the future, I do not know." This affirmation, along with his praise of legendary coach Marcello Lippi as the person who had the greatest influence on his career, was seen by the Italian media as a signal for an emotional reunion.

However, French media still believe that Zidane is leaning towards replacing Didier Deschamps - who is expected to leave "Les Bleus" after the 2026 World Cup in the US, Canada and Mexico. Zidane himself also admitted: "I will definitely return to coaching. I'm not saying that it will happen right now, but one day, I want to lead the national team."

Zidane left Real Madrid in 2021 after a trophyless season. Since then, he has been contacted many times by clubs and national teams but has refused.
