Vietnam futsal team gathers for friendly matches in April

(NLDO) - The Vietnamese futsal team will gather for the first time in 2025 from March 17 to April 16 at Thai Son Nam Gymnasium (District 8, Ho Chi Minh City).

In this training session, the Vietnamese team's list has the return of pivo Nguyen Minh Tri after a long period of injury treatment, along with pivo Vu Duc Tung, who has been absent since the 2021 FIFA Futsal World Cup due to injury.

In addition, four new recruits were called up for the first time, including An Lam Toi, Tran Quang Nguyen, Trinh Cong Dai and Do Van Thanh. They will have the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities.

During this training period, the Vietnam futsal team will have four quality friendly matches in April.

Specifically, coach Giustozzi and his team will face Saudi Arabia on April 8 and 10. The team will continue to face Kazakhstan on April 13 and 15. Kazakhstan is the team that reached the quarterfinals of the FIFA Futsal World Cup 2024 when it defeated Portugal 2-1 in the round of 16.

2025 marks a challenging year for the Vietnamese futsal team as they have to participate in two important tournaments.

The 2026 AFC Futsal Championship qualifiers are scheduled to take place in September, before the team enters competition at the 33rd SEA Games in December in Thailand.

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) creating conditions for the team to gather early and play friendly matches with strong opponents will help the team accumulate experience, improve their skills, and be ready to aim for important goals this year.
