Tuyen Quang: Pa Vay Su Commune declares emergency situation regarding natural disasters

Faced with the landslide situation that endangers people's lives and property, the People's Committee of Pa Vay Su commune, Tuyen Quang province has just declared a natural disaster emergency to respond to and overcome the consequences of landslides in the area.

Leaders of Pa Vay Su commune inspected the scene of an area at risk of landslides affecting people's lives and property.

Accordingly, due to the impact of storms No. 10 and 11, there was prolonged heavy rain in the commune, causing serious landslides in Then Van village. The estimated volume of landslides was about 10,000m³, forming a crack about 600m long.

That situation leads to the risk of directly affecting the lives and property of 6 households (30 people) and 11 households are at risk of affecting their houses, along with many infrastructure works such as schools, medical stations, and houses.

Landslides affect schools in Pa Vay Su commune.

Currently, the commune's kindergartens, primary schools and medical stations have many cracks, damaged walls, and rocks and soil have flooded into the public housing, endangering 131 students, 36 teachers, medical staff and nearby households.

Immediately after announcing the decision, Pa Vay Su commune authorities held a meeting to get people's opinions on plans to move to a safe place.

Households in Then Van village agreed to move out of the landslide area.

Accordingly, 28 households in the landslide-prone area have agreed and registered to relocate to a new location, about 2km from the village center.

Pa Vay Su Commune is also urgently surveying the site, arranging land funds and mobilizing resources to support people in relocation, ensuring safety of life and long-term stability.
