On June 11, the Military Admissions Board of the Ministry of National Defense informed about the guidelines for organizing admission exams for full-time military university and college training at military academies and schools (hereinafter referred to as schools) in 2025.

Admission on a 30-point scale
This year, military schools use 3 admission methods: Direct admission, priority admission according to the university admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training , regulations of the Ministry of National Defense; Admission based on the results of the capacity assessment exam organized by Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2025; Admission based on the results of the high school graduation exam in 2025.
Candidates can register to participate in all admission methods.
The total admission score consists of 3 components: The candidate's test score in the high school graduation exam or the capacity assessment test score, incentive points, and regional and subject priority points.
Notably, the Military Admissions Board of the Ministry of National Defense regulates the admission score scale. Schools agree to use a 30-point scale, corresponding to the total score of 3 subjects in the admission combination from the results of the High School Graduation Exam on a 10-point scale for admission consideration.
Convert the scores of the Hanoi National University's competency assessment test and the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment test to a 30-point scale for admission consideration.

Convert foreign language scores from international language certificate results
The general rule is to convert into admission scores for candidates with IELTS foreign language scores of 5.5 points or higher or TOEFL iBT scores of 55 points or higher.
The Academy of Military Sciences will convert scores for candidates with a Russian language certificate TRKI-2 or higher to apply for admission to the Russian Language major, and candidates with a Chinese language certificate HSK-4 or higher to apply for admission to the Chinese Language major.
Foreign language score conversion is not applicable for international foreign language certificates taken at home (home edition).
In case a candidate has just taken the high school graduation exam in a foreign language and used a foreign language certificate to convert the admission score, the option with the higher score will be given priority.
Foreign language certificates are valid until August 22, 2025 (the time to notify successful candidates according to the regulations in the 2025 Enrollment Plan of the Ministry of Education and Training).

Convert equivalent scores between admission methods
Schools use the Ho Chi Minh City National University's aptitude test and all exam codes of Hanoi National University for admission.
In case candidates use the Hanoi National University's capacity assessment test to register for admission, each school has its own regulations as follows:
- Military Technical Academy considers admission for 3 exam codes: Q01 (physics, chemistry, biology), Q02 (physics, chemistry, history) and Q03 (physics, chemistry, geography).
- Military Medical Academy recruits students based on 7 exam codes: Q01 (physics, chemistry, biology), Q02 (physics, chemistry, history) and Q03 (physics, chemistry, geography), Q04 (physics, biology, history), Q05 (physics, biology, geography), Q06 (chemistry, biology, history), Q07 (chemistry, biology, geography).
The conversion formula is assigned to the Military Technical Academy to preside over and coordinate with schools inside and outside the military to develop a conversion formula for equivalent scores between admission methods, report to the Head of the Military Admissions Department of the Ministry of National Defense for consideration and decision before June 30.
