On the afternoon of October 31, a leader of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training said that the unit had requested To Hien Thanh High School to organize a working session between the school, the board of control and 174 parents of students, and Van Lang High School, to agree on a handling plan to ensure the consensus of 100% of parents.
"The school must apologize to parents and students for the violations in the 10th grade enrollment process without permission from the Department of Education and Training," he said. 174 students from To Hien Thanh High School who were illegally recruited were considered by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training to transfer to Van Lang High School.
For parents who wish to transfer to another school, the school must have instructions to create conditions for students to transfer according to regulations, absolutely not forcing parents.
To Hien Thanh High School admitted students incorrectly to grade 10.
The Department also requested To Hien Thanh High School to fully announce the current tuition fees and the expected tuition fees for the next 2 years of Van Lang High School to parents and students, ensuring transparency according to regulations. In case other fees (other than tuition fees) have been collected, the Department requires them to be refunded to parents and students.
Regarding handling, the Department of Education and Training requested the school to review the responsibility of individuals and organizations. The Department agreed with the proposal of the Department Inspectorate on administrative sanctions according to regulations, if necessary, recommending the city to withdraw the operating license; if there are signs of criminality, transfer to the police agency for handling according to the provisions of law.
Previously, many parents discovered that 174 grade 10 students of To Hien Thanh High School were not listed in the system of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training even though the school year had started for more than 3 months.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet, Principal of To Hien Thanh High School, admitted that the school was wrong in enrolling students without being granted quotas by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training. According to Ms. Tuyet, the school has sent a report to the Department of Education and Training to ask for solutions to the current difficulties.
