At the conference, delegates listened to thematic information: "Overview of the socio -economic situation in 2023; forecast of the situation and socio-economic development plan in 2024". Accordingly, Vietnam's economic growth in the following quarter is higher than the previous quarter, the whole year increased by 5.05%, belonging to the high growth group in the region and the world, raising the size of the economy to about 430 billion USD. The agricultural sector is a bright spot, continuing to be a solid pillar of the economy, increasing by 3.83% in 2023, the highest in the past 10 years. The service sector increased by 6.82%, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue increased by 9.6%. Industry recovered rapidly each quarter, increasing by 3.02% for the whole year. Leading localities tend to recover or continue to maintain a fairly good growth momentum, such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Binh Duong, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh...

Delegates also heard thematic information: "Overview of the world situation, foreign affairs activities of the Party and State in 2023; forecast of the world situation and foreign affairs tasks in 2024".

Concluding the conference, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Phan Xuan Thuy requested that reporters at all levels should step up propaganda to implement specific goals and tasks in 2024 with the theme: "Discipline, responsibility, proactiveness, timely, accelerating creativity, sustainable efficiency" with the highest determination, striving to achieve the best results in 2024.
