Japanese Yen exchange rate continues to increase strongly
Japanese Yen exchange rates surveyed on the morning of December 22 at specific banks are as follows:
At Vietcombank , the Japanese Yen has a buying rate of 164.78 VND/JPY and a selling rate of 174.43 VND/JPY, an increase of 0.34 VND in the buying direction and an increase of 0.36 VND in the selling direction.
At Vietinbank , the Yen exchange rate decreased by 0.25 VND in buying and increased by 0.79 VND in selling, equivalent to 165.97 VND/JPY and 175.67 VND/JPY.
At BIDV , the Japanese Yen exchange rate increased by 8.56 VND in buying and increased by 9.01 VND in selling, reaching 166.04 VND/JPY and 174.76 VND/JPY, respectively.
At Agribank, the buying and selling rates are 166.73 VND/JPY and 172.00 VND/JPY, respectively - up 7.93 VND for buying and 8.26 VND for selling.
At Eximbank, the buying price increased by 0.22 VND and the selling price increased by 0.23 VND, respectively at 167.23 VND/JPY and 171.89 VND/JPY.
At Techcombank, the buying price increased by 0.11 VND and the selling price increased by 0.13 VND with the prices being 163.03 VND/JPY and 174.04 VND/JPY, respectively.
At Sacombank, the buying price increased by 0.29 VND and the selling price increased by 0.3 VND, corresponding to the prices of 167.33 VND/JPY and 173.88 VND/JPY.
According to the survey, today Sacombank is the bank with the highest buying rate of Japanese Yen and Eximbank is the bank with the lowest selling rate among the banks.
USD turns back to 101 points
USD exchange rate today December 22, USD VCB decreased by 10 VND in both buying and selling directions. World USD turned around and plummeted to 101 points before the announcement of PCE data.
The central VND/USD exchange rate announced by the State Bank is adjusted to 23,920 VND/USD, down 18 VND compared to the closing price of the trading session on December 21.
Currently, the exchange rate allowed for trading by commercial banks ranges from 23,400 - 25,066 VND/USD. The US dollar exchange rate has also been brought to the buying and selling range by the State Bank of Vietnam from 23,400 to 25,066 VND/USD.
The USD exchange rate at banks and domestic foreign exchange rates this morning recorded a series of downward adjustments at banks. Specifically, Vietcombank has a buying price of 24,130 and a selling price of 24,500, down 10 VND compared to the trading session on December 21. The current USD buying and selling prices are in the range of 23,400 - 25,300 VND/USD.
The Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the USD against six major currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF), stopped at 101.80 points – down 0.59% compared to trading on December 21.
The US dollar (USD) as measured by the DXY index fell to 101.80 and neared its December low hit last week, due to a downward revision in US gross domestic product (GDP) from the third quarter.
Gold continues to rise sharply
Today, domestic gold increased by 300,000 VND/tael in both buying and selling directions, SJC reached a peak of 75.8 million VND, world gold increased strongly again.
At the time of survey at 5:00 a.m. on December 22, the gold price on the trading floors of some companies was as follows:
DOJI listed the price of 9999 gold at 74.65 million VND/tael for buying and 75.70 million VND/tael for selling.
At Mi Hong Gold and Gemstone Company, at the time of survey, the listed price of SJC gold was at 74.80 - 75.60 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
SJC gold price at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded by the enterprise at 74.75 - 75.65 million VND/tael (buy - sell). Meanwhile, at Bao Tin Manh Hai, it is being traded at 74.65 - 75.90 million VND/tael (buy - sell).
According to Kitco, the world gold price recorded at 5:00 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was at 2,044.945 USD/ounce. The world gold price is 13,145 USD/ounce higher than yesterday. Converted according to the current exchange rate at Vietcombank, the world gold price is about 59.287 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Thus, the price of SJC gold bars is still 15.513 million VND/tael higher than the international gold price.
Domestic coffee prices drop sharply
Updated at 4:12 a.m. on December 22, coffee prices have dropped sharply, from 1,500 to 1,600 VND/kg. Currently, the average coffee price in the Central Highlands provinces is about 67,900 VND/kg, the highest purchase price in Dak Nong province is 68,100 VND/kg.
Specifically, the coffee purchase price in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces is at 68,000 VND/kg (down 1,500 VND/kg); in Dak Lak province, coffee is purchased at 68,000 VND/kg (down 1,600 VND/kg), in Dak Nong province, coffee is purchased at the highest price of 68,100 VND/kg (down 1,500 VND).
Green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, are purchased at 67,300 VND/kg (down 1,600 VND/kg).
Today's coffee price in Dak Lak province is purchased at a fairly high level, in Cu M'gar district it is purchased at 67,900 VND/kg, and in Ea H'leo district, Buon Ho town it is purchased at the same price of 68,000 VND/kg.
